I wonder why I have to look to the BBC and other foreign news sources to get the complete facts on American troops' influence in Iraq. For instance, Why hasn't ABC or NBC reported that American forces have killed more children in Iraq than all of the 9-11 victims combined? whats your thoughts, whats your solutions, do any of you have access to alternative media in your hometown? If you do, you'd treasure the honesty of their reports

Well, you certainly showed everyone off with your completely unbacked right-wing stereotype!
**** all of you. The media is not right or left wing. The media is corporate and sensatationalist.

The funny thing is the only deception is coming from a totally liberal media.

Who cares how the children died, the fact is that they died, and America is responsible. Of course we do not see the statistics on our news programs, do we ever see what is really happening? We may start seeing more of what is going on due to the election....it all depends on the candidate the corporations are funding

First of all, at what point is NBC or ABC deceptive? Did they ever say that civilians do not die in war? That is a no. Point one, prove stupid. Next point, VEGAnQueen seems to be upset that all of the children have been dying in Iraq and the like. While death of children is not a good thing, notice how she and EVERYONE else with her view omits the HOW they died.. they don't mention how they are either used as human shields, which is perversive by the terrorists, but no one is going to risk their life because somebody is using a child as a human shield... think about it. Option two usually is that these lovely innocent children are AK-47 toting bundles of joy. (AK-47's are fully automatic assault rifles.. fyi) While I'm sure there are occassions where these are not the case, and kids are either mistaken for terrorists, or are caught in the crossfire... there is nothing we can really do besides stand around, wait for conformation of no civilians, then run the risk of being blown to pieces. If you want to do that, go to Iraq and do it, but don't complain about how things are being done unless you REALLY know what is going on. That's the thing about media, we NEVER really see what's going on. Only what that group wants us to. I'd like to finish up by just recognizing how ironic it is that ShadyMxcn called ANYONE naive. While he knows more than most people in his home state of Michigan, he still misses the part where Iraq wasn't playing nice. It's like at school, if someone thinks you have a gun, it doesn't matter if you do or not, you are dealt with the same way. If you have nothing to hide, don't be an assclown. So, with that, I just wish people understood how bad they make themselves look by posting in a public place without really knowing what's going on. And I'm frankly ashamed to share a country with anyone who implies that 9/11 is nothing compared to what we do to people. My question is what did we do to deserve 9/11? And think about what you are saying before you answer that.

I cant beleive you are even remotely suprised by this... In almost every mass bombing we have ever done you will find that we have killed more civilians then actual soldiers. Its the truth of war and thats how it is now. World War II the civilian casualties out numbered military deaths. Our government regardless of what they say targets civilians. I saw a documentry on the middle east on the reactions of the middle east after 9/11 and what their reactions were. I saw one child say that he was happy and that we deserved it. I hate to stand up for the terrorists and I am not saying what they did was the right thing to do, but what they did to us dwarfed in comparison of the number of civilians we killed when we bombed them the first time. I could completely understand why they hate our government. Even if you look at the bombing that the Clinton administration did in Yugoslavia we killed thousands and thousands of civilians. Its the truth about our government so dont be surprised if you see things talking about that we killed more civilians then military. If you dont believe me or think I am full of sh!t then look it up yourself.

quote: correcting words and sentences that are barely audible is one thing
audible adj : heard or perceptible by the ear; "he spoke in an audible whisper" Unless you're using text to speech software, audible words and sentences are pretty hard to come across on a message board...

The question is, what makes the BBC any more objective than ABC? Or any of the other major stations. They're all corporations, the fact that they're not American doesn't mean they're telling the truth.
Get the source about that death toll. I'm sure the BBC didn't do thier own investigation.
