I wanted to ask for your opinions about racism in today's society. I think racism has gone too far. Every action that is taken towards a minority group is considered racist. I think that if people stopped jumping to conclusions and didn't suspect everyone as racist then racism would be easier to eliminate in society. If everyone is always down each other's throats, there is no room to look for the best in people. A more positive attitude from everyone is key to stopping racism including the victims and I'd like to hear what you other noisers have to say about this topic. Feel free to let out your true feelings and opinions. I won't be offended but appreciate your effort to help mold my opinions.

If racism is just an uncomfortable word to you and not an unfair and unlawful system of discrimination, then you're not really trying to solve the issue of racism, you're avoiding it. That's the way racism is mostly handled in the post civil rights era, not the "gone too far" method you're complaining about.

Still, let us treat racism as if was selfishness. There are selfish people today as there were 40 years ago. According to your approach, we could eliminate selfishness by not recognizing selfish actions. Instead, everyone who was rude to you just to get ahead would receive a compliment because you're seeing the best in them.

I say it is the opposite. I say that they are ones seeing the worst in us. A thief would rob in public if knew that no one would intervene. It is the same with racism and discrimination, only you're arguing that we should not intervene. To me that's not the solution. That is the problem--apathy.
