i agree with samantha.we are all equal. we live in a country where we can be free.

hatred is taught. maybe it was something taught many years ago but still. the blacks at my school can call u almost any name in the book and still not get in trouble. if any white person was to call them something we'd be in ISS for EVER!! it's like people are sympathizing with them because of what happened with slavery and the civil war and such. it;s not our fault now. live in the present not the past.

True enough, there is racism against whites from blacks. I'm black so I definately know the harshness shown to whites, but to say or assume that it's all because of slavery, is ignorant to say the least. I think that's where the confusion comes in. The blacks I've known who acted cruel to whites didn't do it because of something that happened many years ago, they do it because of something that has happened recently or because of what they were taught of whites and how they were taught to act towards whites. I agree with what most of you said about, it happens so just let it go, but I also know that somethings are harder to let go than others. Lame as it sounds, there's racism towards everyone, but you just have to brush it off and move on.

My name is Samantha too. Just thought I would say that. And there really is racism against whites. You will never, at my school, hear a white person call a black person, to their face, "some black guy", but you always hear black people saying that about white people. And it pisses me off. I would like to think there is more to me than being a white girl. I think the most common stereotype about whites is that their racist, and I know some who are, but the vast majority of the white people that I know don't give a **** what color someone's skin is. Whereas most of the black people I know are still holding a grudge against white people because of slavery. I understand that slavery was absolutely horrible, and degrading, and it is a good thing that it's over, but I can't help the fact that my great-great-great-grandfather had slaves. It's not my fault. I don't agree with slavery, and I don't endorse the fact that some guy in my family who my grandfather has probably never even met had slaves. It's not my fault, and I'm not going to feel guilty. I didn't have slaves and I don't see the point in black people rubbing the fact that my great-great-great-grandfather did. I mean, what do you want me to do about it?

there isn't very much racism in my school against blacks in my school, there is mostly racism against whites. i don't have a problem with black, asian, jewish, or any body. i just don't like people making fun of my race. black people at my school are always sitting toghter and starting thier own dance clubs,but they never invite any white or any other race to join, and when we try, some give us the cold shouler and won't talk to us. this really bugs me and i don't know what to do. please help me!

I'm not going to sit here and argue about which race is most discriminated against. EVERYONE has experienced discrimination at one point in his/her life. That comes with being human. Humans make mistakes. We should also learn from our mistakes and not try to hurt other people in order to feel better about ourselves...no matter what their race, religion, sex, etc.

Today, in our society, the most discriminated group among us is the White male. Period. Look at all of the legislation against Caucasians. Affirmative action, hate crime legislation, slave reparations...When is it all going to end? I think it's time that someone else was truthfully labeled, that being those that work against European-American interests. They are the TRUE racists existing in our nation today.

Yes,there IS racism against both whites,blacks,asians,ect. But I would think that racism against whites would be more common when there are more dark-skinned people in my community (I live in Burnaby,B.C.,Canada) and less white-skinned people.But fortunaterly we all get along with eachother.

it will never get any better, because even if you don't realize it, that type of stuff causes tension which in turn causes racism, if even,in some cases, only to a small degree..

oh someone asked why you said black? well because i'm guessing the girl was black!! if the word black offends you, you need to grow up.. if you can say white, then white people can say black.. fair is fair.. i think anyone should be able to call anyone else ANY name they want.. nig*er, honky, cracker, ****, prarie nig*er, what ever.. because if everyone called everyone else these names all the time, they would stop being seen as offensive.. when a black person call another black person the N word, its cool, if a white guy does it he gets in trouble(usually beat down) same thing if a white guy calls another white guy a cracker or a honky, no prob, but if ablack person does it, it is on again.. listen to me carefully THEY ARE ONLY WORDS!!!!!!! There is racism against all types of people.

I'm so sick and tired of people stereotyping what is "black" and what is "white." I live in Kentucky (hillbilly country, right? wrong!) and most of my friends and I myself listen to rap music. I also watch BET sometimes. I don't watch it because I'm trying to be black, I watch it because I think it's entertaining. I like the music videos and I like the programs that are on there.
And also, I'm sick of black people complaining about how racist whites are, and of white people complaining about black criminals. #1: NOT ALL WHITES ARE RACIST!!! Lots of them treat blacks no diferently than they treat whites. #2: NOT ALL BLACKS ARE CRIMINALS!!! I live an hour south of Cincinnati, where all the black-white riots have been going on, so I've witnessed prejudice and racism first hand. There are all kinds of screwed-up people in this world (and some of them reside in Cincinnati). But for those of us who aren't completely brain dead, let's change things.

im sorry if it sounded like i didn't think we should talk about it. i truely think that this whole site is awesome! its great that people are talking about all this stuff, it might help other people to be aware, and to hear other peoples opinions. all i was saying was about people waisting their breath on arguing over whether or not these things exsist, because of course they do or there wouldn't be this site or people talking about it and i was just suggestin, in ways that i myself have seen work, ways to help rid the human race of prejudice. i know we can do it world! we are all one race: the human race!

Nevaeh159, I understand what you mean about not talking about the whole racism issue but the whole reason why there is a noise board is to talk about it. And we all know (I think), that prejudices exists everywhere but where talking about one form of prejudice, which is racism against whites. I do understand what your point is. But the Noiseboards are used for expressing one's opinion.

This is a very serious thing to talk about... at least to me.
Ok, the thing about people dressing trashy: I personally don't think ANYONE should dress trashy. It shows low self-esteem and respect for yourself (even though I do have backless shirts and whatnot). However, if you want to dress trashy, that's YOUR decision, NOT anyone elses. Even if people who dress trashy THINK it looks good on them, but it really doesn't, they still have the right to dress like that... black, white, chinese, whatever. Now for the crime thing.
TONS of people commit crimes, everyday. Yes even whites. Even though I've heard of more african-american people committing more crimes than I have white people, usually, white people do VERY HARSH things. What I mean is, I've heard of more white people doing harsher things such as rape, beating, etc. than I've heard of black people doing that. Mainly what I hear of black people doing is drugs and shoot outs. Now, whites shouldn't STILL be against blacks (unless of course they're mean to us) because, one, it's immature, two, everyone is related. We were all desend from Adam and Eve don't we? and three, it shows how stupid you are. I mean, you're against someone JUST because of the skin color. Blacks shouldn't be against whites (unless, of course, we're mean to you, like I stated above) because now YOU'RE hating us for something our ancestors did DECADES ago. I think people should just drop the whole subject. Ya know? People wouldn't be afraid of being racist if it weren't for what happened (I can't stress this enough!!) DECADES ago (unless they had a good reason to be afraid of being racist). We should DEFINENTLY fix this. What if, there was a big group of african-americans that killed one white person, and JUST because the police were afraid of being accused of being racist, they didn't do ANYTHING about it? That would totally go against they're motto "To protect, and to serve." And that goes for everyone... whites and blacks alike.

ok, yes, there is prejudice against whites. i myself have experienced it, yes it exists, and its undenyable. but you people are, once again turning this into a white/black thing. i have also received prej because i am a woman, because of my religion, and even because i am blond! its every where, so instead of arguing over whether or not it exists, because it does, why don't we put forth our efforts to eradicating it? this is how i spend my days, i give love to EVERYONE, even people who don't return it me! maybe some day this will have affect on them, if not, oh well, at least i am being as good as i can.
