The reason why I asked why she reffered to her as black is because some do take offense to being called black. And if she called her black she might of got offended and said what she said.

The fact that whites are told they shouldnt do any of these things is also wrong...there are stereotypes on each side, but instead of worrying about if what they are saying (or singing) is politically correct we should worry about what they are saying and listen to others, it is expression. Expression makes us all unique, and individual while uniting a while

many people think that blacks are suppose to be more like criminals or lesser people in society. This is affirmed by many facts. One there is affirmitive action in workplaces and colleges to create a more equal playing feild.
There is also this thing about cocain. Crack and powder cocain have the same effects but crack cocain has a manditory jail time while powder doesnt. Crack cocain is cheaper and is thought to be a "ghetto" drug. though it is esimated that 2/3 of drug users are white, 2/3 of the people in jail on drug charges are black. why is this? because the stereotype of drug users is they are black.
so when a white boy or lil southern white girl talk about the same thing as blacks (youre telling me that eve and j lo ja rule dmx and lal those singers arent talking about sex and drugs?) there is contreversy. It isnt right but affirmitive action and many anti-discrimination groups.

that is definetly a biased observation. Have you been around anyone besides white people? There is a much different attitude towards entertainment than what u described. Eve doesnt sing about how she wants some guy dancing upon her and isnt even gross compared to britany spears if you think about it. And eminem~ he is much more extreme about things. He raps about someone killing their wife who is pregnant and trust me, he definetly attracts much more attention. He sued his mom for god's sake! He is a lot more different than other rappers. I really dont see a comparison when it comes to brittany and eve, or eminem and a lot of other rappers. Its all people's opinions. Most of my friends and family is black and we talk about a lot of things that white people dont talk about. Its very different. You are just talking about how white society seems to think about entertainment. Yea~ a lot of rappers say nasty things, but so do a lot of white singers. In fact, practicly everyone sings about nasty things.

I think there are a lot of things in America that are different for blacks and whites. Take for example criticism in the entertainent industry, Brittany Spears gets all this flack for dressing like a ho while people like Eve (not that I don't like Eve or anything) get nothing, and Eminem gets all this attention while no one talks about any of those other rappers who are talking about the same gross stuff. I don't think this is special treatment for black people or anything, in fact I think it's the opposite. I think that people expect that black people are vulgar or profane automatically. Now what does that say about America?????????????????????

it depends on people. My family doesnt care about being called black. I truthfully dont understand why people think its offensive. Some people might though. But most people on know dont think twice about it.

I don't mind you intruding. It's a message board. Anyway, how would you know if being called black isn't offensive?

Not the original post. I like the fact that this post was created. On the other hand I've been through experiences like that a little more serious that someone yelling that, "..your ancestors...blah,blah,blah..." to me. What annoyed me is this, and I really think it should be addressed. Mochi: You said, ". Maybe now you understand 1/100th of what non-whites like that girl go through everyday." What do you mean? That's like saying that most white people are not attacked for their race, and most every other race is. That's not true. Whether anyone realizes it or not, the amount of white people being harrassed for their color/race is growing. Everyday I go through it and each of my friends do too. I understand what it must be like for black/hispanic/etc. races to go through a lot of the time, but it doesn't mean we ignore the attacks on white people. I have friends of all races. my best guy friend infact is black. I've grown up with him, and love him like family. I've seen what a few racist pigs put him through a few different times, but believe me, I was right there to step up and help defend him, and he's always done the same for me. I think it's wrong to assume white people don't know what it feels like t be attacked for color/race everyday. There are a few of us who don't, but there's plenty more who do. Trust me. youngqueen: I'm not trying to intrude or anything, but this is what I wanted to bring up. You said, "Why do you refer to her as black?" Well, why does everyone refer to white people as 'white'. Honestly, I don't see the big deal. I've been called everything from a cracker to a honky. All of the above. I don't see any reason not to call someone 'black'. It's not offensive, it's just a color.

Jesusfreak, if you actually think that quotas prevent white students from getting into a college, then you're clueless. I don't understand why people think affirmative action prevents white people from getting jobs, admission into college, etc. If a white student is more qualified than a black student, then the white student will be picked. Where is your proof that white students don't get picked sometimes? America isn't that narrow-minded and affirmative action isn't that far-fetched.

Yes, there is racism against whites and we probably deserve it. Th eonly thing that aggravates me are quotas that prevent talented white students to fil positons because collages need to enrole 50+ minority students to fill the quota. Now, i'm not racist, but certian things make me mad.

You should read "The Ten Things You Can't Say in America" by Larry Elders, a prominent african-american libertarian. One of the topics is that "blacks are more rascist than whites", but there are more interesting issues in there; gun control's problems, media bias, the welfare state, and reblublicans similarities to democrats.

sorry that happened to you. Racism sucks and everybody tastes a little of it. Maybe now you understand 1/100th of what non-whites like that girl go through everyday.
