And just for educational purposes, I have attached a link with some information on righteous judgement, something Christians are instructed to do.

Now, if that doesn't settle it, I don't know what else will; maybe your calling isn't to judge, maybe it's to heal the sick.

Whatever the case, remember, we can - and will - judge.

Jesus also said that we should judge according to someone's work ...and I would like to start seeing the translations used for these verses. They sound an awful lot like modern-day translations, and we all know that can be construed.

So are we to sit back and say it's just fine and dandy for some woman to butcher her unborn baby? Huh? Are we? Are we just supposed to stand happily in a pew while a ton of GLBT flaunters and their lifestyle-supporting judges and politicians violate their state constitution and get married?

No, I don't think we are just supposed to sit back and just "love" everybody's actions.

I will judge everyone, Christian or non, and I'll feel pretty secure about it too.

It's like the whole argument over Islam; the Koran teaches its followers to fight a jihad against infidels. Well, hardly anything is said about God instructing His people to not spare ONE single woman or child in battles, wars, etc.

Nobody mentions the part where if you don't repent you go to HELL for the rest of your flipping eternal life!

I'm going to go with Jesus on this one and love everyone, but at the same time try to steer them (and me) back into the moral direction.

I wonder how many people have a Strong's Concordance, because I was looking up the root word "judge" and there are quite a few examples and verses of God instructing His chosen people to call someone out on certain things; Moses being one of those...

...so yeah, rather than take the PC line all the time of "love, love, love, but don't judge" you guys might want to refresh on some of the literal translations.

I think people are getting half the picture here.

conflictingzest, I stand corrected... However, I still contend that it is not our job to judge anyone when we are all by nature sinful creatures. We are called to love all of God's creatures, whether they believe in Him or not, and I think that a more forgiving, understanding church would help our suffering world much more than one that pushes people away by portraying them as the minions of Satan. I will bring the message to anyone who wants to listen, but I will, under no circumstances, try to force my views on anyone. The reason Christians are villified is that they are perceived as intolerant and uncaring... We must be loving to all people, and follow in the footsteps of the one who set the example for us (us being Christians): Jesus.

Castro you are mistaken, the greatest commandment was Love the lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind, with all you strength and with all your soul. the second greatest is love your neighbour as you love yourself.

"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside."
-- 1 Corinthians 5:12-13a

I am in no position to judge what anyone does, and certainly not someone who has grown up in a different moral tradition. We are also supposed to "love our neighbors as ourselves", a little statement made by Jesus (who I'm assuming is your Lord and Savior as well as mine) called "The Greatest Commandment" (combined with "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength")

I'm gonna go with Jesus on this one, I don't know about you Joey.....

Well, abortion is flat-out murder, and I will say it is murder.

I think homosexuals who do not repent will go to Hell, and I will say it.

I'll also be the first to admit I make mistakes too, and I'm not in any way perfect, but I'm not afraid of "casting the stone" against a fellow Christian, or someone who says they're Christian, and a non-believer.

And nobody on this site will make me feel guilty about it any more.

there is a difference between judging what christians are doing by their fruits (note keyword: christians.) or Judging critically about doing certain things or joining groups.

That whole "seasons" crap you're saying is for christians, it's saying that you should judge their views critically incase they mad ea mistake in which case you can politely and lovingly correct them or show them the right answer.

Psalm 7:8
let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD , according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High

Psalm 50:4
He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that HE may judge his people:

Psalm 50:6
And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge.

Psalm 94:2
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

Ezekiel 7:3
I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices.
(that's GOD talking)

Matt 7:2
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you

Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

John 12:47
As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it

I think that's enough for now. The thing is that you are to judge what affects you in your walk of faith and judge other christians actions to see if they fit with what the bible says ( if they don't be lovingg and lovingly point out there error). Any other judging should be left to God because YOU and all of us are ignorant humans.

What about:

quote:
Luke, chapter: 6, verse: 37

Jesus said:
Don't judge others, and God won't judge you. Don't be hard on others, and God won't be hard on you. Forgive others, and God will forgive you.

quote:
Romans, chapter: 2, verse: 1

Some of you accuse others of doing wrong. But there is no excuse for what you do. When you judge others, you condemn yourselves, because you are guilty of doing the very same things.

quote:
James, chapter: 5, verse: 9
Don't grumble about each other or you will be judged, and the judge is right outside the door.

I also found biblical verses to support your view, Dauben. Unsurprisingly, it seems like yet another example of the bible trying to "have it both ways".
