here's the dilema:
don't tell - people stumble across it anyway, gossip behind your back, talk about it, and think ur ashamed.
tell - tell the people who are closest to you and people will think ur flaunting it and being an *******.

Doing something with shame does not mean you ashamed. Confusing, but in this case shamelessy means with uncontroled pride (shame being the stifling of pride). It's sort of like arrogance but different.

Well, obviosuly it's shamelessly, because straight people never had a reason to be ashamhed, did they? rofl on the gay drink thing. And yeah, it is annoying when people keep saying they're gay. Muich like it is when people make a point of how strsight they are.

quote: wouldnt couples walking holding hands, or hugging, and kissing in the park be flaunting their sexuality?
I wouldn't classify that as flaunting. Our good friend Dictionary.com says it's "To exhibit ostentatiously or shamelessly". Reasonable public affection doesn't really fall into that. Dressing up in a g-string and feather boa and making out with your partner is. I think that sort of stuff is what they were talking about.

I find it aggravating when homosexuals flaunt their preferences. Most "straight" people don't go around saying "I'm hetro and you better remember it" It especially annoys me when celebrities are gay and everyone makes a huge deal out of it or the celebrity keeps talking about how they are. argh. I want to tell them "I know you are homosexual! I won't forget it!"
It just annoys me when people say whether they fancy men or women hundreds of times.

Firepunk apparently missed the point entirely and has no understanding of higher forms of humor. I can tell by your post that you are, in all likelyhood, much more narrowminded, naive, and/or ignorant than I am. quote: Maybe you guys should just maybe get out of your narrow-minded way and live a little
I gauruntee you that I have lived far more than you have.

How can you guys say that gay pride has gone TOO far??? Hasn't straight pride gone too far??? They are trying to add an amendment to the Constitution to ban same-sex marriages. Isn't the Constitution supposed to PROVIDE rights, not take them away??? And it's the straights that are doing this.... so what the eff about gay pride too much??? Maybe you guys should just maybe get out of your narrow-minded way and live a little and STOP discrimminating!!!!

Hey, let em do what they want and eventually it will die down...eventually. I've nothing against gays, but I agree, it has gotten a little too big, but that's what you've gotta do for what you believe in I suppose. I know I would.

quote: I don't recall there being an MLK soda.
What about those energy drinks that are like Red Bull, but are produced by famous rappers, and have names like Crunk and Pimp Juice? The civil rights movement isn't still going on, obviously, but if you think a drink targeted towards homosexuals is ridiculous than you have to think that these drinks, which are marketed towards black youths, are ridiculous.

and there are plenty here. what i mean is, if you go to arkansas, there is very likely to be more racial/gay/lesbian hate than in san francisco, for example.

FUBU was established in 1992. Well after the civil rights movement. It's not really the same thing. quote: you said it yourself, arkansas. hello! probably got the manure on a cow farm nearby.
Hey, I'll have you know there are plenty of cows up here in Jersey too. And probably plenty of people who would do the exact same thing.

quote: Lol, how is that an example of gay pride gone too far?
The title was largely in jest. However, I find it almost sad that marketing goes to this legnth. Yeah a Miller ad can focus on gays, that's rational. However, Miller does not have Gay Beer. quote: like in the feminist movement, and the fight against racial discrimination.
I don't recall there being an MLK soda.

Lol, how is that an example of gay pride gone too far? Yes, that's funny but not as ridiculous as you might think. Look in any gay mag. You'll see ads by huge companies that are specifically targeting gays. Like Miller Beer, every now and then will have an ad which will be a beer bottle in the hand of some hot shirtless guy in some gay club, and in rainbow letters it'll say "it's Miller Time". That's marketing for you, complain about the marketers if you feel strongly about it, not the audience they target.
