Most girls want a tall muscular guy is like saying all guys want super models. Sure they have "perfect" bodies but that is only 1 in a whole lot of people. And sure they are fun to look at but I care more about what a guy thinks. Plus if you like guys for a certain trait, it has nothing to do with them being better than women, it is because you are attracted to certain traits. Femminism...a joke? If you think femminism is a joke you should be doing house work for a living, submitting to men and wearing skirts everyday. Women HAD to do that without femminism.

Sign up for the draft? NO WAY! Why? Becuase the military has banned me from certain areas! Talk about being a prude. I'd probably kill the legislator if he told me I was required to sign up for the draft but then didn't allow me to be in combat!! So until they get their heads out of their butts, I shouldn't be required to do anything. If women were allowed into ALL areas, I would definitly agree with ALL people being required. As for football, of course women should be able to play. That is, of course, only if they can make the team. If she isn't strong enough, she isn't strong enough. But don't tell me that no matter what, a man is stronger. You are BORN stronger..that's all. If a woman works out, she can be just as strong as a man. But you can't ban me from trying out simply because I have boobs!!!

there are a lot of chicks that believe that to be a true "woman" they have to be a feminist. Now, how many of those "feminists" will actually sign up for the draft, try to play in the NHL (which is simply WRONG) etc... not many. now, i'm all for the chicks who want to join in the army, they have every right to! but to say that a woman is actually stronger than an average man is wrong, ask any girl who plays football (ex. holly taylor) or any girl who competes in male dominated sports (and not like WNHL because things go much easier where you can't even CHECK people! )chicks are, however, just as smart as men, and in some cases better for the job. but don't tell me guys are less because, think about it?! most girls want a taller, stronger, more superior man... you fall for the 6'2" muscle men before you fall for the 5'4" intellectual w/ glasses and un-gelled hair! i know some people are super feminists, but lets not take EVERYTHING to extremes, eh??

definition of feminism (webster.com) 1 : the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes this is what i believe. i don't think it's about dominance either. i just think feminism is about being who you are: a woman, equal to a man. (not physically... you know what i mean.) i am feminist in that i think we should be treated with equal respect and rights.

I wouldn't call myself feminist persay . . . I mean, there are some pretty extreme feminists out there, but I am extremely angered by all that happens to women (especially employment-wise).

Next time you post please read the posts other people wrote. Few feminists are really about female superiority. There are different types of feminists: liberal feminists, who want equal rights for all; social feminists, who believe in a Marxist revolution for women's rights; and radical feminists, who are usually the man haters, and support the elimination of all forms of gender classification. I'm a liberal feminist... I don't hate men (some women can be pretty evil), but I want more equal rights for both sexes. Hope that clears some stuff up for everyone...

Feminism is a horrible thing. Why because it is a form of discrimination (Discrimination being the belief that one's stock is superior to another.). How can women feel they are superior and then expect men to treat them as equals?

I totally believe in equal rights for men and women. I believe girls should play football if they want, get equal pay, and I definately think women should be drafted. It's our country too, and I'd like to fight for it!

If men weren't forced to sign up for the draft they wouldnt either except for the ones that want too. I know many females that want to be in the armed forces. I do not really agree with the draft for men or women. If the American people do not want to fight the war then that is what the american people think. That is democracy

To me, feminism means social equality for all people, men and women. It's about striving to make sure we live in a world where women are entitled to all the rights and opportunities that men are entitled to. It also means that both men and women should be able to be whoever they want to be: if a woman wants to compete in football, she should be able to succeed, and even likewise if a man wanted to compete in, say, syncronized swimming! But if a man or woman wants to adhere to the gender roles we have now, that's okay too... but NO ONE should have to feel forced to conform to gender stereotypes! So many people seem to think that feminists are all radical dyk*s who hate men, hate all things "girly", and think women are superior. Some feminists are like that, but most aren't! I admit I used to hate men (it was because this guy I had a crush on practically tore out my heart and smashed it... in the same week my grandpa died ), but after awhile of meeting actual decent guys, I began to realize that men and women aren't really all that different. I think I even get along better with guys than girls at my school (I go to college... high school boys are much harder to relate to, I think). And although I'm a feminist, I love all kinds of girly things... like makeup and such. I don't want to be a hypocrite, so I think that it's worth it to have to register for the draft in order for women to finally have the same opportunites men have in this country. I don't really think men are much more courageous and emotionally stronger than women are... Jil

my best friend dreams of being in the airforce, OK, that's not exactly the same thing as signing up for the draft, but she IS going into the ROTC, and she wants to be a fighter pilot. her views haven't changed since 9/11 either, if anything, she wants to get out there and fight MORE than before. Then again, maybee she just wants to be arround all those good-looking air force boys!(Yum!) cheers, KC

Hey there all you feminists! I must say that I agree that being a strong woman is good, even great, however, women don't seem to like being treated as equals. I say this because I am yet to find a so called feminist that is willing to sign up for the draft!

I've got nothing against women who are proud of who they are. It's certainly better than having a broken woman who bends to her husband/boyfriend's will. It's just those who choose to go nuts with it and hate all men...for no apparant reason, that's really screwed up.

Feminism is good. I do not think that it really is an -ism issue, because you should be proud of what you are. I am female and proud of it. Some people that are against femminism don't really know what femminism is.
