Joey, if your sources are primarily Christian, then of course they'll hold a biased Christian view of Pagans. If you want to learn about Pagans, ask the Pagans themselves, not Christians. For example, would you go to the ladies section of a store to buy men's clothes?

Yep thats what i was tryin to say Socrates as you can see i'm not the best speller . So basically if you are a good person it doesnt matter what religion you are a part of you might end up in pergatory but not in hell unless you are an extremely evil person.

I think "Vatican II" is what he intended to say (correct me if I'm wrong). That would be the second ecumenical council (it's where they call all the bishops together) held in Vatican City. Don't remember the dates; you can look it up. Sometime in the '60's. Anyway, they changed a lot of Church doctrine. But I don't remember them ever getting rid of Hell. When I went to a Catholic school, my religion teacher once told me I was going there. Pergatory is where you go before Heaven if you were good enough to avoid Hell but not good enough to get into Heaven immediately. A priest told me that unless you're a saint or Hellbound, you'll probably spend some time in Pergatory. He also said that while Hell does exist, it's unlikely that many people go there, and the Church has no authority to say any specific individual is there.

quote: vadacin(sp)
Do you mean Vatican? quote: and that has been re written so there isnt a hell.
They rewrote the Vatican? That makes no sense. Could you rephrase your whole statment, and if you dont know how to spell something just discribe it.

as a catholic christian i know that there is a vadacin(sp) 2 and that has been re written so there isnt a hell. at first it was that there wasnt a hell but a pergatory(sp) that was like the waiting room to heaven then they decided that wasnt right. so now there just isnt a hell but i personally believe to a certain extent diff levels of heaven

Well, actually the first Christians did identify themselves as Jewish...in fact, they had a lot of hang ups about Jews being better than...this is ridiculous. I know this word. What's the word? Ack, I am drawing a total blank. Anyway, better than non-Jews. So they were sort of Jews for Jesus. But that's not particularly relevant to anything, I don't think. Love, Jen.

Well, I'm an ex-Catholic, but I'm not sure of the reason they'd become Jews or atheists. Maybe the Church just does a good job of pissing people off. It angered me, but I would've stayed even then if I hadn't had a change in beliefs a couple months later.
Joey, I didn't say anything about celebrating things on those days, I said celebrating the days themselves. In other words, you can't call the days by their names if you really want to be a purist about keeping paganism out of your life. If Christians made pagan holidays their own, then Christians won a victory over paganism. Isn't that something to celebrate?

just wanted to say... i find "Jews for Jesus" very funny. in the normal world, Jews+Jesus= Christianity. The first Christians were Jews for Jesus, but they didn't say that they were Jewish. hmm... just something to think about.
also, I know quite a few people who were raised religious catholic and are now atheist or Jewish. I know no people who went the opposite way. now, why is that?
well, its a little off topic, sorry, but 2 bad 4 u!

So change it. Or do you still want to convert everybody.

quote: Who says I'm trying to convert you?
no one has to say anything. its obvious by what you say. quote: I don't sugar-coat things, haven't you learned that already?
did i say you shugarcoated things? maybe youre just misinformed.

quote: ...its getting on my nerves, and if you want to convert us and save us all from the infamous hell, this is not the way to do it.
Who says I'm trying to convert you? I'm simply informing people that this stuff is pagan and demonic. I don't sugar-coat things, haven't you learned that already? ... The profile says a goal of mine is to convert everybody, but I filled that out when I first signed up on this thing. Socrates, I was wondering where to find the pagan meanings of our weekdays, so thanks for posting it. And sorry, I don't celebrate anything on those days.
