What is with the stereotype that all texans are hicks, dumb, and conservative?? I am a texan and I am none of those!! People always make fun of us, and it pisses me off. There are stupid people in Texas just like there are stupid people in other states. We're not all biggots! Austin is one of the most accepting, laid-back cities in the United States!! Joey Dau-boy and Voice of America are bad representations of my state, so don't think that we're all that ignorant.

I don't consider Texas part of the South.

The state has the ability to become its own country. I don't like all Texans, but I don't stereotype. I believe Poncho is a Texan, and I like him well enough.

But, despite the Big Texas Sun, I'm surprised to find that individuals such as Joseph spend their lives living under rocks.

To be fair, I've done my fair share of putting Texans all under one umbrella, and I sincerely apologize for that. Of course there are people of all types in every state, and no two people are ever truly alike. In addition, Texas has a lot of great things going for it, so I'll stop knocking it.

The topic was starting to get good until that; it's obviously you were raised by yankees or Austin has severely warped you.

Austin is our most communist-thinking city in the state, with its massive school/political population (still a Longhorn fan though!), so your rant about Texan stereotypes is nothing to be surprised over.

I'm with you on one thing. A lot of people will stereotype Texans as nothing but hicks, cowboy hat-wearing conservatives, which I am neither (I am a true Texan patriot; a radical. Do not call me a conservative).
