i'm jewish, and lemme point out again, i love being jewish. but i'll agree with you, i don't agree with alot of things that my religion stands for. i wouldn't change being jewish for the world, but being born into something that i don't totally stand for, isn't something i all together enjoy.

i don't believe in religion either. I think it has gotten carried away, i think it has made people unable to stop and think for themselves, it has become so corrupt now that it's almost just like politics and you can't tell when something is done for the good of god or just for the good of the people running the church.
I myself, am an independant monotheisist. Which basically means that i believe in one god and everything else that i believe in is what i've picked and chosen from millions of different religions to form one belief that is mine and no one else's.
By the way, my parents are strict catholics. It's funny how most people that change religions as teens started out as catholics, huh

i agree that you shouldn't be a part of a so called "organized" or majority religion just because they are telling you to do it, though, hey, if it works for them, that's fine. but i also think that that shouldn't keep you from exploring all the different options that are out there. there are so many different kinds of religions for all the different types of people that are out there. most people are born into organized religions through christian or catholic families (i know i was born into a very strict pentecostal christian family and sent to a very small private christian school for 11 years...). but maybe there are different things out there...people, especially teens, should learn about all the different kinds of religions and ways of life that are there for them to explore. because that is when they can make decisions and spiritual choices with the knowledge of what works for them and what doesn't. religion and spirituality isn't for everybody, and obviously organized religion is not for a lot of us, because i have seen how unhappy and how miserable it can make us when we conform to standards that we don't really believe in. -e.k.

(Religion is, by definition, organized.)
I don't subscribe to any one set of beliefs (at least I don't think I do), probably mostly because I can't bring myself to buy into it. Oh man, this reminds me of The Color Purple. Go read that book, and read it now!
Peace, Jenny

I think organized religion is a bit too "organized" to be a tangible belief.

My family is Catholic, but I couldn't stand the church and they views. So I prefer to simply be Christian. It leaves beliefs open to my interpretation. There's nothing wrong with organized religions, I just don't prefer them. People should think however the want and believe in what they choose to believe in without the fear of Hell or something if they don't.

I have been brought up to believe what is in you heart and not what others tell you to believe. TO me I dont want to be part of an organized religion becuz I dont believe "GOD" intended us to follow others around. God isnt someone you can put into any one relgion.
