I was just thinking about this and I had to post it. Are the evils of the world due to bad parenting? Everyone says the most influential teacher you’ll ever have is a parent. What if that “teacher” is a bad one or refuses to teach the right lessons? Are parents the reason for prejudice, hatred, greed, ignorance, cruelty and jealousy? Do a little research. What do you all think?

Armanith is so right... in a perfect make-believe world. As much as we wish that were true, not all are parents are loving and protective. There are many people out there who should NEVER be parents but they end up having five kids anyway, who they neglecting or worse. What about then?

I dont think parents are to be held responsealbe if we do something wrong..we are the one who chose are actions..they are just the people who tell us what we should do..or not do. They help sheild us from whatever they feel that is neccesarry to be protected from. They love us regaurdless of what we do.

Honestly, I beleive that depends fully on the intelect of the child (the influence that the parent has).

To blame it on one source is ridiculous. Do parents play a big role, of course but this blame your parents for everything is ridiculous and thankfully for the most part died in the 80's.

Yes parents are to blame, they buy you barbies, sit you infront of the TV and watch commericals. Buy you the pretend mcdonalds service counter. They are training you to become a consumer.

I think howYOUdoin has the right idea, although I think parents have more of an impact than he was implying. What do the rest of you think?

The GenX folks (generally from 1964-1980) are the first generation of the "free love/anything goes" ilk; children of the 60s "flowerchildren". Kids were urged to have free sex, forget about inhibitions, blame every evil on the the white man, tune in, turn on, and drop out.

Look at the results of this bad parenting: overflowing prisons, drug use, destruction of public schools, moral and ethical anarchy.

So, the answer is YES, BAD PARENTING IS TO BLAME.

Next. Cool

Maybe somewhat the parents have an effect on the children and how they turn out. However, everyone has been created with free will. Not everyone may know right from wrong, but I'm sure they know what's the wrong thing to do; children weren't born oblivious. As the children grow up, life gives them the lessons they need to know what to do; parents are only a small part of these lessons.
