So i'm taking this class and one last class we did this exercise that kinda went like this. Say what ethnicity you are and then what people assume about you...it was really interesting to see all the subtle ways we as a society are still very involved with racism. I'm mexican (though i don't look it) and i worked in a factory over the summer. another worker after finding out my dad was mexican asked if he worked in the factory implying that all mexicans work in factories while in actuality he's a loan officer for a bank.
