I love Walter Williams. He's a black economics professor at George Mason University, writes a syndicated column (our paper runs it) each week, and basically "tells it like it is" to the black "leaders." I love Larry Elder too. He's a black radio talk show host in South Central Los Angeles, and he, too, writes columns and has a couple of books out about how Blacks are more racist than whites. Elder's book, which I highly recommend, is The Ten Things You Can't Say in America, and one of the chapters is *gasp* "Blacks are more racist than whites." Good stuff. I'll have notes and quotes from it later on down this post, but out of Williams' latest column regarding Rush Limbaugh: quote: The true tragedy of the flap over Limbaugh's remarks is that it's reflective of an ongoing process in our increasingly politically correct world where people are losing the freedom to say what they think lest they be subject to intimidation, extortion and other costs by our well-established grievance industry.
I like that: the "Grievance Industry" ...Jesse Jackson is the president of the Grievance Industry in my opinion. quote: Liberals are selective in terms of what they deem racist.[QUOTE]
Read: double standard.
[QUOTE]Take Dusty Baker, the black Chicago Cubs manager, who said: "Personally, I like to play in the heat. ... It's easier for me. It's easier for most Latin guys and easier for most minority people." Baker added, "Your skin color is more conducive to the heat than it is to the light-skinned people, right? You don't see brothers running around burnt and stuff, running around with white stuff on their ears and nose and stuff."
Imagine if a white person would have said something like this...no, seriously, just imagine. quote: Then there was New York City Councilman Charles Barron who said, addressing a 2002 Washington, D.C., reparations gathering, "I want to go up to the closest white person and say, 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing,' and then slap him, just for my mental health."
Imagine someone like, Dallas Mayor Laura Miller (who is white) saying this, only reversed in the subject matter. Could you picture the protests? quote: Then there's the liberal California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, who while giving a Black History Month speech used the word "******." He claimed it was a slip of the tongue and got off the hook.
If I used the n-word just out of the blue like that, I would have been jumped, stomped on, and probably stabbed. ************ Larry Elder Notes & Quotes: (Notes are mine, but are paraphrased out of Elder's book) Maxine Waters of the Black Congressional Caucus calls Bush "racist" because he disagrees with her on policy decisions. Calls Republicans "the enemy." Spike Lee, after filming "Jungle Fever", said about interracial relationships: "I give interracial couples a look. Daggers. They get uncomfortable when they see me on the street." Elder says: "Blatant bigotry against whites, for many blacks, resembles a badge of honor. Many blacks feel they can, with impunity, make utterly racist statements." There's a lot of good information in Elder's book, too much to post now, but I highly recommend reading Walter Williams each week. He simply puts these black "we're-the-victims" in their place, along with the Politically Correct, Big Government-supporting liberals. Good stuff. And it's common sense stuff, too. http://forums.dankus.net

I like Walter Williams. He's black by popular demand, his words not mine.
I live in black populated area and when I was in school cause I am white I would centered out at times.

Bottom line: this crap demonstrates in painful relief the obliviousness to the black experience, which we as whites are allowed to indulge, and in which we are allowed to wallow. We cannot understand what it feels like to be thought of as a criminal solely because of our race. We have no comparable social context that would allow us to process the depth of the psychological injury that flows from such a thing. And even if race is not the reason for such suspicion in a given case, the mere possibility that it could be (based on the history of these kinds of things) is enough to generate anxiety, stress and even real somatic pain for those seen through this lens. This author is a self hater....

quote: Actually, I wouldn't say that 'blacks are more racist than whites', just that blacks might be able to get away with making racist comments whereas whites will (usually) be checked up on it. Good point. It's not that one group's more racist, it's that PC prevents whites from speaking clearly. But minorities are allowed to say blatantly racist things, so long as it's racists against whites. And if your white, God forbid you try to point this out, you'll just be shot down as a racist, whether that's true or not. though, sadly, I do know some white kids who say blatantly racist things that make me want to cringe.

I fully agree. Whites aren't allowed to say much unless they want to be labeled racist, such as what when on with the media coverage of the Obama campaign.

Bex asked a civil and (in my opinion) legitimate question...well, really she made a statement, but it was sort of a questioning one...that's not the point. You know what I mean. And you answer her with rude and rather uninformative cussing. I dislike you.

Sorry to harp on, but homosexuals seem to fit the minority definition to me. Bex

To clear up the misconception: homosexuality is sexual orientation. Minority refers to race aka nationality and/or skin color.

What's your point Joey? That homosexuality isn't a minority? More people are straight than gay, so doesn't that make homosexuals a minority? Anyway, this thread is discussing race so let's not get into another gay debate. Bex

For the sake of any and all debates dealing with minorities, never, ever use this phrase ever, ever again: quote: And probably homosexuality...
Where you people get this garbage, I'll never know. But now that Dallas County is a majority Hispanic, the whites are now a minority.

Okay, I have a question...There's a black family who has taken care of the women in our family for years. The older black lady took care of my great grandma, and the younger one helped my grandma around the house. Now, they're having some legal trouble, and my dad and his brother (who's a lawyer) are stepping in to get them their land, which was blatantly stolen by a white family, back. (I'm not saying it was taken cause they were black; stuff like that happens to everybody 'round here.) Now, this family calls dad and his bro up to help them out. Nothing wrong with that. Dad's paying a surveyor and uncle Charles is coming out of retirement (temporarily) to go to court for them. But the reason they give for doing it is that this is sort of their pet black family. (Their words, not mine). They're doing this not to be nice, but because it's expected or something. My dad said that he "can't let people mess w/ our N******." Now, don't get mad at me, that's just the way he is, and the way he talks. Now, for the question: If you were that family, would you feel insulted, or would you be grateful for the help? It just has a not-quite-right feel to me, and I'd like the perspective of some other people, 'specially minorities. Love, Jen.

Sinope, I totally have the same questions you do.
For a minute, look at who runs the show, shall we?
Rockefellers. That family funds the organizations the politicians belong to that make it so the White Man will control everything.
It's all a perfected plot to basically run the dang world. It might sound far-fetched, but it's flipping true.
Want to know some AIDS history? At first, MK-NAOMI was meant or something to get rid of black people. Serious to God, it's all in the documents I have. The "N" in NAOMI, in fact, stands for you-know-what.
Some of the things I say can in fact be deemed "offensive" and I do not doubt or deny that.
But dialogue is exactly what is needed. Shying away from events, history, comments, or opinions simply because it's "offensive" isn't progress.

for starters, i'm mexican american. as a minority i feel that, dauben, your racial orientated posts can be offensive. most are. to me. i know that your not some white suppremist or anything, but understand that these posts can be hurtfull to minorities. they're offensive! that said, i see no reason to censor or to attack your observations on contemporary society. they address racial issues and bring about a dialouge. a dialouge that is neccessary. but this discussion is onesided. i'm going to get into race here for a minute, and keep in mind that it is no offense to anyone here. in fact i respect you all. why do white people rule the world? run monopolies? control governments? Economic affairs (with exception of the saudis ) ? Boss the minorities around at the work place? WHY DOES THE WHITE MAN CONTROL EVERY ASPECT OF MY WAKING LIFE?! why? what is it with white people? take no personal offense to this please. i love you all, and we are in the same boat! but when i look around this world, i question... what is it about white? dominate. assimilate. buy\sell money. impose. control. we're all racist, and should accept that. but have you ever been pulled over because the color of your skin? i have (maybe). i stopped to early at a red light *cough, skinny mexican with backward hat busted to the side driving nice car, cough*. it's easy to feel outcasted when you have NO control over anything. so i just run red lights now.
