At my school sexism is out of control. Girls are treated like crap by guys and even other teachers! The owner of our local theater is a sexist; I know from experience from him. A boy stood next to him, swearing at me and my friends, cussing, calling us ****s and just bein a jerk for no apparent reason (didn't even know the kid). I said "Back off" and I am the one who almost got kicked out of the theatre! It's terrible. If anyone else is going thru this, speak up. (P.S. Guys are victims to sexism too - so don't think I'm a sexist, I just haven't experienced it). Thanks!

Yea so teachers should call on girls to answer questions in class since women tend to have higher IQs right?

quote: For me, however, I still witness sexism everyone. At school for instance...teachers always pick guys to do all the hard work...because they ASSUME that as chicks we cant do anything.
you are obviously very blind and ignorant. The truth of the matter is that as boys go through puberty they GENERALY take on a more muscular build and also do happen to be stronger than MOST girls there age. If you're a stick girl then obviously the teacher won't pick you and if you're some prissy, preppy, chick he won't pick you either because he'll assume you're too afraid to break a nail. Also it happens to be that MOST guys don't care about lifting or doing heavy work while MOST girls complain about it.

it's just that RIGHT after i said i was sick of sexism and complained about a local businessman you automaticalls say that you hate femminists. sorry i said that, but "takes 2 to tango" i think it was the wrong time to say that (not that i don't respect free speech - just saying...) i apologize.

Actually, I did read the whole thing. It's just that females complaining about sexism is usually considered feminism. *shrug* And when I said 'feminists', did you see your name in there? Yeah, exactly - so please, don't assume things and use your own advice before giving it out. Get your facts straight.

I hate how feminists complain about not having equal rights. And they obviously have them, but as soon as they can use their gender to an advantage, they don't hesitate to. Honestly, it's not sexism, it's about who you prefer as a person.

Whats Shakin!
This is a GREAT topic!! I have so much to say. As a chick...I believe that I've learned alot in the 14 years I've been alive for. For one thing...my dad is European and believes that girls should cook and clean and stay home...my mom believes that girls should be independent and hard working in the work force.
For me, however, I still witness sexism everyone. At school for instance...teachers always pick guys to do all the hard work...because they ASSUME that as chicks we cant do anything.
In my opinion...Sexism sucks...but it doesnt only occur with girls...I know that at my local mall...When you walk into a store with guys...the store clerks watch them like hawks...Sexism happens...it'll change slowly and surely
