Las Vegas Academy (a magnet school for the performing arts) is doing a play called The Laramie Project (about Matthew Shepard).

Yesterday, there was a group of people from a babtist church in Kansas(the same one who protested at his funeral) protesting the play. They referred to LVA as "sodomite *****house masquerading as Las Vegas Academy". A protester I saw on the news was saying how it's sad that those kids actually believe that God loves everyone.and God doesn't love people who act like the devil himself.
There was a 3-year-old boy holding an anti-gay sign for a while. That is sad, when a child who cannot even spell his own name yet is being taught to hate. Some people are horrible.
(There was a counter-protest outside the school as well.)

Inside the school, the kids were united. LVA is an amazing school. I have friends who go there who were telling me about it. Every person at that school wore white, and every person stood in the courtyard around the flag pole in the morning.(usually about 15 people pray around the flag-pole some mornings, even at my school, but EVERYBODY was around the flag-pole that morning...not necessarily to pray to God, but to show unity). That's awsome.

I know this is kinda late, seeing as you wrote in 2004, but our school just recentely had The Laramie Project preformed. And those same protesters from kansas were going to come to our school. I don't exactally know if they came or not (because I was elsewhere) but i was looking on their website and stuff, and i was appaled. It's just so crazy what these people are believeing! and most of their so-called quotes from the 'bible' seem to be only fragments that have been twisted to fit their purpose. and I agree with you about the child holding an anti-gay sign.. it's inhumaine!
I mean if this group are trying to get people to think that homosectuality is wrong and evil i'm pretty sure it's not working out so well, most likely, because of the horrible things that this group is doing and saying, I think that more people are realizing about the issue and going on the 'gays' side.
