Witches were said to fly over the fields to “teach” crops how to grow. It was a fertility myth.

You can't look at the holiday itself or what is behind it... it is how you personally use it or celebrate it, or don't. If you don't want to celebrate its fine, i'm not going to discourage you, but here's some facts that may make you see things in a different light:

*the bible was written in a pagan language
*Christmas trees were originally a pagan ritual
*thanksgiving was started by the native americans who believed in multiple Gods
*nativity scenes are completely unbiblical and unhistorical

There's more, but i'm too lazy an hungry to type them. Just remember that God always used the things and the people that were furthest away from him to further glorify His name, so don't get caught up in the physical attributes of things, because everything can be baptized to be used for His glory.

Well, they don't believe in hell, but generally there's no set Satanist afterlife. I guess that's why they don't want to die. Like the article said, almost no Satanists commit suicide. They prefer to enjoy life and not let go of it for some hope of an unknown afterlife.

What I was getting at was that just because the devil wasn't identified in Hindu religious texts, didn't mean that the concept satanists have of it wasn't in there. The characteristics Satanists worship can be seen in all religions, because they are a concept, not satan himself. Satan is opposition, in a way, the other side of things. It is, in a way, the world. Satanists themselves don't strictly believe in evil...well, they sort of do. It's kind of hard to explain. They don't really think that evil is evil. It's just sort of there, and it's accepted in the same way good is. I can't really say what I'm trying to. They don't believe in suppressing or denying human nature, which includes what we would call evil. They like the world. They don't want to give it up. So the satan they worship is anything that prevents people from separating themselves from the world. That satan is usually in opposition to religion, or religion is in opposition to it. What was i supposed to get from that? If it was that the devil was identified in hinduism as a tie to worldy things then it isnt true. Hindus were taught that the world is just an illusion so there cant be a devil tied to something that isnt actually real. But maybe that wasnt the point. I have no idea.
