Plastic surgery is a surgical method use to change the appearance and the functions of a person’s body. Plastic surgery has known to be implemented for the good of mankind.

Don’t you agree that mankind nowadays are exploiting and misusing the advantages of plastic surgery just for their own benefits? Women for instance, they often undergo plastic surgery to improve their physical characteristics they feel are awkward or imperfect. They even tend to have plastic surgery to standout from others. Breast implantation, correction of breast asymmetry, liposuction, otoplasty (ear surgery), rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) and the list goes on are. These are a few surgeries they went just to enhance their beauty.

However, the question is, should plastic surgery be carried out? Or should it be put to an end? We must be proud of our god given looks and physical appearance. Wouldn’t it be so artificial if we go for plastic surgery just to make ourselves look better, physically? A person is judged based on their personality and inner heart not appearance. In fact, they are even surgeons taking advantages of their talents by hiking up the cost of this surgical treatment. As a result, only the affluent can afford such luxuries. So, wouldn’t it be unfair to the poorer ones?

Honestly, there are pros and cons about plastic surgery. In reality, some even went for plastic surgery just to make themselves look like a model. So, should plastic surgery be abolished? Should there be a limit to it? My dear viewers, I really would like to hear your opinions about this.

I'm alarmed someone even thought of this as an issue. Why on earth should plastic surgery be banned? Because real beauty comes from within, and we shouldn't be so quick to judge based on physical appearance? That's not a reason you ban something. A reason you ban something is because it kills people, causes cancer, or tangibly and directly does something equally horrible. If you disapprove of plastic surgery, don't have it. Nothing scares me more than the people who don't understand the difference between "I don't like it," and "OUTLAW IT!"

As for how I feel about plastic surgery personally (which I can't stress enough is an entirely separate issue from whether or not it should be abolished), I'm all for it for those who want it. I hope we can all agree that for those who need it for medical reasons, it shouldn't be looked at as a taboo at all. And for those who just want a new nose...well, they're entitled. It's not exactly a secret that physically attractive people have all kinds of advantages in our society, and many people who undergo plastic surgery come out with a newfound confidence that I think ends up outweighing the physical changes. But I'd advise anyone considering it to proceed with utmost caution. As The Onion once cracked, plastic surgery is now mere years away from actually making humans look better!

Right now I think they are a lot more important issues to worry about than wether or not plastic surgery should be abolished. That's something we can deal with after we've helped save the billions of people dying of starvation, AIDs, genocide and other things worldwide.

I think that is the only way it should be condoned. There are a lot of people that actually NEED surgery like that for their health. But when it is used just to look "better" physically, there is no real point to it. There are many horror stories about it, but then I realize that a lot of people have success with it too. Our society today is too image-based. We need to focus more on what's inside than on what we look like.

I still get worried when I see phrases like "change the way they think" What next? The way they live, who they are?

I mean who is to say that you are thinking the correct way. Who's to say that I am? Even the fact that a majority is against something does not mean that the majority is right.

I mean I don't think we should change the way people think, merely that we need society to care. We live in a mainly apathetic country. While a plethora of people do care, the amount that take action is much smaller and the amount of those who don't care is overwhelming.

i agree totally with you. but the fact is, society will never change. It was always primal instinct, the rhino with the biggest horn, the peacock with the longest tail feathers, and it would take a long time to make it go away. But I like the thought.

imagine - you were in a great big explosiony fire in your apartment building. You escaped alive, but your face looks like it was roasted on a BBQ. Plastic surgery?

imagine - you were born damn ugly. you have a good personality, but girls/guys avoid you because you're damn UGLY. Plastic Surgery?

you are a celebrity pop star diva young girls role model who's really hot but can't actually sing and skids by because she's hot. She wants to have bigger boobs for her next live show. Plastic Surgery?

It all matters with the SITUATION, whether it's OK or not,and still, it's your choice.

1) I never called you an idiot, in fact I've never thought of you as in idiot. On the contrary I've always seen you as a person of intelligence. IF you interpreted my statement, then I'm sorry you feel that way. Please don't put words in my mouth; I have enough of my own.

2) Yes I agree, most people do not think in a healthy manner, howeverm i was naturally withdrawn from the way you worded your views. Besides who are we to tell people hpw tp think. who's to say that you or I don't think in a healthy manner?

3) I'm sarcastic by nature in all things I do. If you don't like sarcasm or a sarcastic tone, I'm sorry, but get used to it. I'm going to do it again and again.

4) No matter how you feel on controlling people, the way in which you phrased your argument held the tone that sounded as if you considered other people's thoughts to be wrong and yours were right. Therefore you think that the other's thoughts should be changed. Which led me to images of dictatorship and 1984

Yes Comrade Shade, I think Big Brother would agree with you.

Dude, I was being serious. The way most people think today is unhealthy. Don't mock what I say because you think it's put a certain way. I'm not an idiot, and I do not believe in controlling people. If you're not going to say something smart, don't say anything at all.

Plastic surgery shouldn't be necessarily abolished, if people want to wast their lives away getting petty surgeries done, whatever thats a waste of their own life. I believe people hsould only do it for medical purposes though. And besides I feel bad for all the trees being cut down for money in these pathetic people's hands

I wish my lawn were emo so it would cut itself.

Well then I guess that really becomes their problem. If they want to frivoulously waste their money away.

I mean I can't see how plastic surgery causes any harm to the public. Its a mattter of individual right. And I say, if its not going to harm others, then hey do what you will.

Abolishing plastic surgery would be like outlawing smoking. And I don't mean smoking in public, I mean all together.

I have a feeling that it would be the beggining of prohibtion version 2.0. Because it worked so well last time.....

Or what about the person who has extra skin and is embarrassed by the flab of kin hanging at the bottom of their stomach? plastics surgery offers people a way to become happy with their body. Not everyone can be happy with the body they have.

My friend made this evident to me. I'm happy with my body but they explained the appeal of surgery to them.

plastic surgery should be for you, not someone else. If it makes YOU feel better about yourself, then no, it shouldn't be abolished.

Let's focus on happiness. If it makes people happy, then let it be. It's a personal choice. It isn't for me, but it might make the next person perfectly joyful.
