Any gay person who calls themselves a Christian needs to get their head screwed on right. See for yourself.
quote:
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It IS an abomination. Leviticus 18:22
quote:
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood SHALL be upon them.-Leviticus 20:13
Also Romans Chapter 1 spells it out for ALL gays who call themselves Christians. God even says being gay is one of the worst sins you can commit. Also, gay guys, why are you not turned on by hot girls? In most animals as with human males, testosterone makes men attracted to WOMEN! Not men. Women. And saying people are born gay is like saying God made a mistake. NEWSFLASH! God does NOT make mistakes! If you think so, you NEED help. Bad.

There was this trans Xian guy on Loveline a couple weeks ago (and I only listened to it for that. I was looking for info, I was). Anyway, the only person who had a problem with it was the bigot of a pastor and a trouble-making family... Trouble making families. There was one in my old church. They indirectly kicked me out. Got the pastors involved in my personal life and so I left. I don't take sh*t like that anymore.

Lol, the title of the board is funny.

It's "gays and Christians don't mix". Do you know how many gay Christians there are, how many there have been? It's like saying "there are no Christians in America" or something. It's an obviously false statement.

On the one hand it tells us, "an eye for an eye." On the other it tells us, "turn the other cheek." And if you think those things about homosexuality are still relevant, how about these quotes about straight marriage?
"Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take multiple concubines in addition to his wife or wives." (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21).
"A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be stoned to death." (Deut 22:13-21)
"If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe and be otherwise punished in a manner to be determined by law." (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut 25:5-10).

Charming, charming. But not to be taken literally, I HOPE!

god doesn't hate anyone. he created us. he loves each of us no matter what we do. i have friends who are gay and still christians. but it's like what another friend told me once. If you're a m/f and your crush was the exact same only h/s was the opposite sex would you still like them? as for me, no that's kind of gross. but you can't sit there and say christians and gays don't mix or that god hates gay ppl

I am a Christian (a congregationalist, to be exact), and I would like to state that the Bible is not the word of God. It is an interpretation, a written story. There are historically correct facts within the Bible, but not all of it can be taken word for word.

In addition, it was written thousands of years ago. Times have changed. People have changed. Our VIEWPOINTS and prejudices have changed. We should be openminded, not closeminded and prejudiced against fellow human beings. My church teaches that God forgives all sins. God hates no one. PEOPLE (humans, just like us) have edited the Bible and changed the words to fit their own opinions rather than keep it historically accurate. Take this into consideration when you make prejudiced accusations. Roll Eyes

i believe this particular section of the boards is called "ending the isms."

i aggree completely with celtic newager, and blinkattheworld. i think that only with discussion, not arguments can we solve this problem of equality.

let me be the first to start.

i am bisexual, and i'm a confirmed episcopalian. i also practice the arts of wicaa, and research in the arcane, occult, and esoteric. for this i am deemed not only a hypocrite by the christian community, but i am also deemed sinful.
what happened to the "daily bread and spread love?" and not what the bible said, but in the name of the bible how much love is spread compared to how much blood is shed? if the god you believe in says that you must love thy neighbor as thyself but you cannot accept another person who lies with another person of the same gender, then do you think you're looking in the right book?

i am not saying that christians are hypocrites, or bigots. i'm saying that there are those who follow christian principles that are seen as offensive and hurtful.

people have seemed to forget that the bible that some people cling to so dearly was not written by the "hand of god." true, the men who wrote it were full of the holy spirit, and were humble, but it was written by the hands of men.

all that i ask is that, in this forum at least, we all aggree to a cease-fire and let ourselves be vulnerable for a moment. if we can stop hiding what we truly believe, not what our culture says we should believe then we might open our mids a bit and learn something from each other. that's exactly why i think this site is here. not to force bigotted opinions on others, but to actually learn.

quote:
BUT THE REAL THING THAT SICKENDS ME IS THAT U DON'T GO AROUND SEEING 2 MALE DOGS DOING IT

Funny thing is:
I happen to have two male dogs, Tucker and Boomer, and let's just say that after they eat (usually about 4:30 pm) they get a little frisky.

So, I suggest that you take some Pepto, cuz it sure does happen.

Oh, and PS: Leviticus outlines a lot of rules/guidelines that no one follows, particularly the menstrating woman stuff. Man, wouldn't that be a burden in today's society.

nicely said, blinkatheworld, i congratulate you for not being ashamed of your sexuality. gays and lesbians need that. even if i am not gay, i fully support a gay person and in no way judge them, i believe they are the same as the heterosexuals, we're both human.

quote:
It's hard and I won't say it isn't. But only intelligent discussion, not hate will get us somewhere.

and that was a wonderful suggestion.

Well homosexual behavior is found within alot of animals, so it is found in nature.

Nature is full of anomalies, things away from the norm...this doesn't mean theyre abnormal, theyre just as part of creation as anything else.

There is pretty much an exception to everything in nature. Most plants are supported by stems, but not all of them have stems. But are they still part of nature? Yes

Most leaves are green. Are they all green? Think not.

Most birds can fly. Ostriches can't. Does God see them as more inferior creation? He made them run fast and lay one of the, if not the, largest eggs instead.

Of course...these are all physical and not psychological characteristics, but nature is full of anomalies, and this is one we are trying hard to understand.

The orientation itself is definitely not a sin. As far as the acts, it troubles me. I'm gay, I would have never chosen this burden but I often wonder why I am this way. Maybe a desire to fully be one of the guys, be as good looking, as superiorly athletic might have twisted into affection for them? Or was it really embedded as I was growing up?

It's hard and I won't say it isn't. But only intelligent discussion, not hate will get us somewhere.

Excuse me, but as I have previously stated quite clearly and with significant examples---Homosexuality IS permanent and ISN'T a choice. At all. Period. Do you choose to be heterosexual? Did you make the conscious choice to be a straight individual. I think not.

Also, homosexuality is love just as much as heterosexuality. Gay people are PEOPLE just like everyone else---they just happen to like the same sex. Just because it's love between a man and a man or a woman and a woman does not make it any less love.

Somehow people think that homosexual is permanent. Didn't that atheist doctor guy say different? And this is a topic involving Christians! Yes, homosexuality is a sin, and yes they should change, but hating on them will not help them come closer to God or change their lifestyles. The old "more flies with honey" thing, you know?

P.S.: Homosexuality is lust (not love) and lust in any form is wrong. Also, this topic is not about vegetarians (eyes StrangeLove and vegan meaningfully)

Wow thanks for giving us the Biblical passages there.

Now we all know the Bible speaks out against homosexuality.

What would we do without your revolutionary discovery and your ability to be the only person who has found those passages?

Let me not even waste my time.

If you think gays suck, just say it (and why)

Don't spit back the passages you probably got off another site.

If I were God (which I would never like to be, ever, just a humble follower), I'd be pretty pissed off people like you are running around telling my other pieces of creation that I don't love them and they should get their head screwed on right.

If your "God" claims to be all-loving and hates none, yet he hates gays, he is a lying hipocrate (who is potentionally non-existant) just like 99% of his followers. And if that's the case ,the Chirstianity religion is all a lying cycle, or in my honesty, bull****. Or at least his people, who seem to speak for him in various occassions and are ALWAYS right *sarcasm*, are ignorants who were raised in very secluded farms.

And, yes there ARE, whether your idiot prophets liked it or not, good Christians who are gay. I know many.

It's funny how you people pretend to be God.

i'm putting an end to this whole ****ing Romans topic. i spent half a year researching this particular passage and have found out all there is to know about it.

number one... peter does not write his letters to the romans in the form of scripture. the letter was first written in aramaic, then translated into greek, then to roman latinf, then to modern day italian (and so on...).

number two, he wrote this letter concerning christianity in the temple of Aphrodite, in Greece. The temple was where they worshipped the goddess, and performed various acts of sex magick in her name. the temple was a center of prostitution, as well after the romans took over greece, but the rituals were still practiced. the rituals included things like the man taking the place of a woman during intercourse, and vice-versa. the "heathens" he was referring to in his letters, were the practitioners of a defunct religion. in the origional form (found in the new oxford edition bible's Apocrypha) the letter states that the heathens running amok in the temple have no gudance. they have no one to show them a true practice, like Christianity.

point three, the letter in its original form goes on to say something about loving everyone, and thinking that everyone is an equal to you, regardless of gender or monetary or political status.

i hve done my research paintbucket, have you?

um ok well first we should love all people. it doesnt matter who they are. but God does not like homosexuality. dont get me wrong. he loves them but he hates the things they do as well as he hates our sins.

1 Corinthians 6:9
1 Timothy 1:10.

and for those who want to argue with me about this, i am not going to because i do not have the knowledge to do so. i just know that it is wrong. and it says so in these verses. i regret not being able to help you.

Hi

If Christianity and homosexuals don't mix then how come I'm a Christian who supports homosexuality and all of my homosexual friends?

By the way, do you know that many animals have been found to be homosexual.

Also, by saying that homosexuals are not born that way, you are saying that they choose to be gay. Homosexuals are found everywhere, including countries that ban and punish (some by death) those that are homosexual. So why, exactly, would someone choose to be a homosexual in that country?

In that great book, the Bible, there are many references stating that God is love, love thy neighbor, etc. It doesn't ever say love thy neighbor, oh but except if their homosexual then you can hate them all you want. It never says that. Also, if we followed the Bible word for word then we would still have slaves.

I think that when God created this world as he did, he knew things would evolve and change and he even knew how they would change. I think God accepts these changes (including homosexuality). After all, homosexuality is love as much as heterosexuality is. Do you ever to think what it would be like if homosexuality was the norm and people discriminating about you and told you that you couldn't be a Christian or that you were going to Hell for being a heterosexual? Did you ever stop to think that maybe you're treating animals better than some humans by condemning homosexuals? Oh, yeah, by the way, in case you didn't know---gay people are PEOPLE too with feelings just like you.

Just some thoughts for you to consider. Bye now.

A homophobic vegan? that IS a new one. I do have to inform you that there are homosexual animals, so infact, you are wrong. Sorry to burst your homophobic bubble.

And for having facts, please, do share some of them.
