I don't believe in racism, however I think that when it comes to dating, people should stick to their own race. I am not racist, I'm actively trying to vanish racism but I just don't find the idea of mixed relationships tasteful. To each his own.

I think its important to note, it's not that i do not wish to socialise with people of other races, or embrace them etc, I just dont wish to have children with anyone of another race.
I do not like that one day the world with be mixed race, it bothers me, I think its nice to have seperate races.

Black people in my society now mix within one another, they're 4th or 5th generation black people and they're all incredibly confused.
If sean paul is on tv one day they will be Jamaican, all of them, because they are black they presume no one will question it, if Kanye west is on tv everyone is african, whatever it is, they presume because they're black they can get away with pretending whatever their history is.
It pisses me off to say the least, i dont run round saying I'm swedish just cause majority of swedish people are white ?

Whatever.

Well maybe if we were all the same mix of races yeah.

I'm white and I normaly find white girls least attractive. I emphasize normally. I find myself boring so I think I am attracted to what I am not.

Human nature being what it is, I'm sure we'd find something just as stupid to discriminate about.

LOL There's a lovely twist for you...

Ideaaly, I'd like everyone to mix, and for there to be a day when racsism does no longer exist.
Yup, it's true, people would find a way. People from in the north wouldn't mix from people in the south, stupid, like locationalism!
I think being unable to look at the person beneath the skin colour, and being unable to love a person beneath a different skin colour is very narrow-minded. I guess some people want to be narrow-minded, and stay with in a closed group.

Hah. You really think we can do away with racism?

Back on topic, I'm white and I find guys of all races attractive. I really don't care what a guy's race is.

Yes, and a small world that will one day die out because eventually everyone will be interaced, I'm just holding onto my side of things and I'm entitled to, there are enough people having mixed race children, I dont need to be one of them, the future is apparantly bound to happen anyway.

I did not say you were not entitled to your own opinion or point of view. All I said is that you live in a small world. What I meant by that was that I think it is sad that some people are just not open to other options. It makes you no less of a person if you don't. To me it is just sad that one only looks at skin color or race and quickly dismiss someone simply because of it. There is more to an individual other then there skin color. If you choose to stay within your own race then so be it.

Maybe I am a racist then, because I'm not attracted or interested in being with other races
but I'm willing to accept that and move on. I like people keeping their races within their races, not mixing them all up, I'm not into that.

This is what I don't quite understand. For me it doens't matter what race other people are. I have a hard time understanding how it matters.

I'm completely with you YouthVoice. I love finding out things of different cultures. Thats why it gets to me so much that some people are so blind and single minded.
I honestly think people would have better relationships with people very different to themselves, as there is so much more to talk about.

My first and only boyfriend is African American. I am Hispanic. I don't have a problem at all with dating people of different races, skin tones, or cultures. I like different, what can I say. It makes things more interesting. We both learned from each other and I really liked it.

I get you, and it's a good point. But, how can you know who you get along with best if you don't even give some people a chance.
It's like going in a room full of people and instantly saying I'm not going to talk to that half of the room. What if you're best friend is in the other half, but you don't get the chance to find out, instead you settle for someone on your half you don't get on with as well (I like to use lots of analogys)

that's more along the lines of what I was thinking you feel safer with people you think may be more like you

That's all true, but finding a substantial amount of common ground is crucial to most relationships in the early stages. Until people become totally uninhibited, they're gonna be looking for cheap excuses to strike up a conversation with people they like (e.g., "NO WAY, you like Beyonce too?"). People just tend to like what they know; I really don't think it's as much a question of close-mindedness as it is of comfort.

But again, I'm speaking in generalizations. I'm sure a lot of people of different races have a lot of culture in common.

And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"
