On this message board you can post info on your college, what you're majoring in and why and just discuss the trials and tibulations of applying for college, graduating, and attending college!

My "dream school" is Georgetown University, where I would enter the School of Foreign Service and major in International Politics. But given the fact that I probably wont be admitted, right now I am checking out George Washington University, where there is a similar program.

I go to Marquette University and am a Theare major, with a Poli sci minor. I can honestly say that going to MU was on of the best decissions I have ever made. you know, they say that when you get to the right school for you, you JUST KNOW and that is totally true.

So because God is calling me to go to a quality school with GOOD programs, a GOOD reputation, and an expanding campus set in one of the friendliest cities in the nation the world should be destroyed immediately?!?! Expand on your comment for me, if you will. I want valid reasons for your point.

Yes, that was stupid of me. I knew the Cornell I was thinking of was not a University; I wasn't reading very closely, apparently.

Yea, which is odd because the other one is an Ivy. But you meant Cornell College, which is near where you live (I think), and not Cornell University which is in the finger lakes region of New York, correct? Not really important, don't know why I'm dragging this out.
Anywho... I can see where the size factor would come in with SPU. I live in the middle of nowhere so big looks good to me. Seattle and Ballard are both very nice areas yes. Easy to get lost in the latter though.

Because art colleges don't have any jocks. People are a lot more friendly and open minded to new ideas.

Personally, I love the SPU campus! It overlooks the beautiful water and is right next to Ballard, which is an adorable old-time-Scandinavian commmunity. So, I don't know how you could have found it depressing. It is smaller, but I prefer small schools. I have also visited the UW campus and their campus is WAYYY too huge! It is so easy to get lost there and their cafeteria is not the greatest. They do have great programs, but they have been having a lot of trouble as a University lately and their tuition keeps skyrocketing because it is overcrowded. Personally, I would find that WAY more depressing than SPU.

Most art schools don't have dance programs, just so you know. quote: just curious because when i went there i found the place to be extremely depressing.
When I was there, I thought it was okay. It wasn't terribly exciting or anything. I do like the UWash campus. Seattle is such a great city.

Mad puffin-just occured to me... you were talking about the other cornell weren't you?
haha
neway, SPU... have you visited the campus? just curious because when i went there i found the place to be extremely depressing. different schools hit different ppl different ways of course but... personally... blech. UW is the only washington school i've liked thus far... western is beautiful but the school itself is a bit lacking.

I have wanted to go to SPU since I was in middle school, and I feel that's really where God is calling me. I hope to become a teacher, although I haven't decided exactly which subject. I am REALLY excited about applying for early admissions this fall and I cannot WAIT to graduate!
