I have absolutely no idea what college I want to go to. It's probably going to be a Georgia university like UGA or Georgia State, but I have absolutely no idea what career I want to pursue.
Thank you bauhaus for the information. I really appreciate it. I think every school looks at grades... that's what I'm afraid of, my grades are passing, but just not at my straight A standards...
the oakland arts and crafts I heard is really good. Academy of Art College will always be on top of the list... All my teachers are all top proffesionals in the subjects they teach. Even my non art teachers... Like my popular culture teacher is Alan Kaufman, internationally known poet, 2 books published, owned a magazine company.
My calligraphy teacher did some work, where there was 700 calligraphy peices entered from top calligraphers and he was in the top 7. his teacher at one time was the guy who invented the ding bat font. Look for a school that focuses on building a portfolio rather then grades.
i applied to cornell actually, got turned down. i have horrible grades. i quite love the school though and will at least apply to their graduate school, hopefully get some time down at arecibo. thanks for the info tho.
oh btw this is umopepisdn... felt like changing my name, meh
For the first sixteen years of my life, when I went to church, we had a total of four different ministers at my church. First was a husband and wife who preached together, the other two were women. Also the Lutheran church.
quote:Also Cornell, Columbia and Harvard are pretty much the best colleges for physics in the States, from what my brother and father have told me.
Being an Iowa senior, I got tons of mailings from Cornell, wanting me to attend (I'm planning a physics major), but I rejected them; I'm going to Iowa State this fall. Wahoo, big school, here I come. Probably just stereotypical, but private schools like Cornell seem so pretentious to me. I've done just fine by my public education, and it's so much ******* cheaper.
quote: No idea where I'm going yet. Major in Physics
I could add some insight here, seeing as I have two family members who have Degrees in physics. Of course the holy grail of physics is Oxford, where my brother is currently going working on his PhD in molecular physics. Now that I think of it Oxford is pretty much the Holy Grail for any subject, sorry about that tangent. But also of course Cambridge in England is good. Also Cornell, Columbia and Harvard are pretty much the best colleges for physics in the States, from what my brother and father have told me. But there are plenty of other options as well. Almost every university has fairly decent department but the ones I have mentioned are the best.
I went to the open house at the Univ. of Tampa last Sunday and it was such a kewl college. The dorms, scenary, professors, and everything was really great and I'm excited about attending there this Fall. For those of you who want to find a nice private school in Florida, you should check out The Univ. of Tampa, it is truly a great school right in the middle of downtown Tampa so there is lots to do and good internships.
I hate to think I am the only one who is right on issues, and I believe people should think for themselves.
But in religion, there are specific guidelines, and expectations.
If you think Ministry is something God wants you to do, then I wish you all the best.
Just remember in everything you do and say, people will see as the way you feel, God wants you to act.
"[Jesus said] A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34,35 (emphasis added)
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." 1 John 4:8,9
God loves everyone, so we are to love everyone as well, without exception (even if they may be incomplete people ).
Just remember that, and do that, and you will never be wrong.
Might go to University of Reno Nevada, just because with the millenium scholarship thing it wouldn't cost much...or else ucla. i like cali . I know someone who went to NYU and it sounded neat, but I think I'd freeze to death. lol
I'm a political science major (at the College of Charleston) and I'm thinking of minoring in English with an emphasis on creative writing.
Jen: When I was at college orientation one of the speakers mentioned that the largest percentage of people who get accepted to medical school are philosophy majors.
