Women can be eerily flexible that way, DrS.
Personally, I hate it when people whine about women (and minorities for that matter) not being "equal" to white men. Come to think of it, I hate whining of all sorts. Anyways, the thing I hate most about it is the rise of these annoying Equal Opportunity laws. For instance, in a toss-up between me (a semi-well-to-do white dude) and a semi-illiterate Mexican woman for a job at a fast food restaurant, the Mexican lady will get the job, regardless of how well qualified I am. I've had to put up with that sort of scenario ever since I turned sixteen and tried to get a job. I still don't have one, and not for lack of trying.
If anything, it's the white men who are beginning to need help. Companies will hire women and minorities over equally qualified men simply to fill a quota so they won't be labeled as "sexist." And if they happen to hire a man anyways, they are labeled as sexist. Frankly, it sickens me.
The world is not a male-dominated place. There have been matriarchal societies since the dawn of time. Many first-world (and second- and third-world) nations are led by women, and many other nations have women in positions of great power. Take Condoleeza Rice, for instance. Or Hillary Clinton. Even in the business world, women are CEOs and presidents, like Meg Whitman, CEO of eBay. Apparently she "put up with this kind of shit" without griping.
I will admit, however, that women are still seen as inferior, especially in the workplace. But no one said life was fair. That's just the way it is. If you don't like it, do something about it. Just don't start bawling out (all) men for it. We're not all jerks just because your mom has a crappy manager. Heck, it's Wal-Mart. What'd you expect?
The more you know, the less you don't know.
