My name is Zeinab.I am a youth, student, and citizen of Nigeria.

most youths have always wanted things done to stimulate competition amongst them. not in a sordid,money-getting way ,but in the desire to excel.
that is what most Nigerian youths love: the game, the chance for self expression.the chance to prove their worth.that is what makes every contest.the desire for a feeling of importance.

this desire makes you want to wear the latest styles, drive the latest car, and boast of most goodies in life.

we live in a society intoxicated with success.the media constantly barrages us with informations and advertisements that calls us to amore successful lifestyle than we currently enjoy. everybody is trying to make his/her mark.everybody wants to go ahead and have a bigger handful of personal fulfilments for themselves.

you can now see what results to illegalities.it is oppression.

i think the best way to curb the illegalities being performed by this so-called youths is just to stop criticising and condemning them but try to understand them and figure out why they do what they doand make them understand the consequences.
these can only be achieved through awareness campaigns, just like the HIV/AIDS campaigns, etc.

i'm even suggesting we use the technique of giving them a fine reputation to live up to. throw down a positive challenge. use encouragements, make the faults you want to correct seem easy to correct;make the thing you want them to do seem easy to to. and if at the end of the day they come up with something good and inspiring, lets appreciate them.

condemnation and criticism are not the end to illegal games ,but the door to hardness and desperation. lets not condone this in our global village, but embrace unity and honesty which is the key to a crime-free world. because the innocent ones are also sufferung from these all.

I think this topic may not get the desired results or better still not get any. What inspired the topic was the fact that so many disciminations and condemnations has been experienced by the Nigerian youth and i think what should be done is not to keep mute but lets point out our views and make some noise about it.
