Hey~ has anyone seen the show "I love the 80's" on VH1?
Well, being born in 1988, i am a child of the 90's so i was wondering, what would be put in the show for the 90's?
For most of the teens that grew up in my era, what were the fads, the must-have toys, the classic movies, the music, and the hit TV show?
Here is what i came up with:
Toys:
Polly Pockets Barbie( without her little sister Kelly and without flexible legs and arms) Tamagchis, Nano Puppies, and Giga Pets( the electric pets that you had to take care of) Troll Dolls Cabbage Patch Kids
Movies:
Home Alone Titanic Blair Witch Project Independance DAy/ Armegeddon/ Deep Impact- all the "end of the world" movies Sleepless in Seattle Pulp Fiction The Body Guard
TV:
Pokemon Full House Friends Seinfield lamb chops rugrats
Music:
Candle in the Wind The Macarena! Livin La Vida Loca! The Spice Girls Baby got back
Do you guys remember any songs, movies, toys, clothing, or Tv that made your childhood?

Y2K! wait...
lol, and what about that show on ABC? the one with the dinosaurs? About the family of dinosaurs? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? that was like this *forbidden show* for me and my bro and we couldn't watch it! LoL~
Jumanji! Omg I LOVE that movie lol. Let's see...oh wow, 90s, that was back in the day when I went to the home improvement stores and asked for *celestial* patterned wallpaper and the guy always looked at you strangely. There was like two kinds of wallpaper like that in the whole world! Now you go and ask for it and they point you to that part of the store! Lol I guess I was just a trendsetter...
Oh yeah, Christina A. had only slept with HALF the men in the music industry back then...
Ok everyone's already said all the other stuff, like Princess Diana and everything...Clinton and crap like that...and *Nsnyc! YEAH BOY BANDS NEVER DIE! LoL hahaha!
Lots of love, Lynne

Um, I wanted to post something here since the beginning this thread was made but I never could think of anything.
My memory has died on me and I really have no recollection of what went on in the 90s.
Maybe I rather just forget than remember
Bye N Have a nice day

YOU GUYS! How can you forget Dawson's Creek? I ****ing hate that show, but my older sister has watched it since the first episode. Dawson's Creek was such a big deal, at least where I was from, NC, maybe because it was filmed in Wilmington...I dunno. I'm just surprised no one thought of Dawson's Creek or all the other WB shows.

Well, since I was born in 83 most of my younger years were in the 90's. A lot of you mentioned some good stuff, but one that I’m surprised people haven't mentioned was the Sovereignty of Hong Kong going back to China. That was in 97 so I was about 14. Also I remember the internet really coming out, and DVD's beating lasers discs, which were thought to never be beaten. Also the video game industry really became a big money maker back in the late 90's. Now it is the 2nd biggest money maker, I still remember the days when it was considered a "geeks" passion.

quote: You are mistaken my friend. Teenage mutant ninja turtles were 80's property my man. Not the 90's. Also legos transformers and gi joes, lincon logs most of those things are 80's prop. Not the 90's man. I do agree that the wizard is one of the best movies ever so score some points for that one
I listed the things that I played with and enjoyed as a kid. They are from the 80s because that is when i grew up. sorry Remember the part in the wizard when the kids brother knocks over the building he was making?that was great.

you know i think the 90's music-most of it anyway is way better than any of the **** that people are creating today. Sorry, i just had to say that, and when i was a little kid, my parents used to play me music, and now i know the words, and enjoy songs that i didn't know i knew and it sounds really good, and people prbably think that b/cause we r in the milleninum that the music is stupid, the 21st century, people just get in a frame of mind, and just don't get that music, any style or age can be brill. thanx
