Ahh yes I remember a lot of the politics and news going on... Monica Lewinsky, Elian Gonzaloz! And Princes Diana, too! How about Mother Teresa? I'd almost forgotten about all that stuff.

Ummmmm The WTC attacks were in '01.

You are mistaken my friend. Teenage mutant ninja turtles were 80's property my man. Not the 90's. Also legos transformers and gi joes, lincon logs most of those things are 80's prop. Not the 90's man. I do agree that the wizard is one of the best movies ever so score some points for that one. Big Grin

kg: those events were really good. i had forgotten all about them

elian gonzalaz was SUCH as big deal! and so was the o.j. trial.

Gangsta rap started out in the 90's too and it got out of hand ( the death of tupac and B.I.G.)

Also, remember looney tunes?

friends, seinfeld, recess, captain planet, beanie babies, the lion king, ricky martin, alanis morisette, slouch socks, wide leg jeans, grunge rock, the first world trade center attacks, anything clinton. so much more, just can't think of it.

i'm sure some of those were said, i didn't really look through the list.

you missed out on a good time in the 80's. sure, i was only 3 in the last year of it, but none the less, good times.

i'll think about the early and mid 90s since that seems to be getting slighted here.

music - nirvana (bex excellently remembered), guns 'n roses, boyz II men, whitney houston, madonna (i know that some of these also were big in the 80s). the 90s is also when electronica really entered into the mainstream as "techno" became increasingly incorporated into songs.

events - the gulf war (part I, evidently). the LA riots (i lived in LA). the oj simpson trial/circus. the oklahoma city/murray building bombing. somalia. princess diana's death (not that i paid particular attention, but you couldn't get through a day without hearing about it). elian gonzales and the anachronous nature of the us/cuba relationship. saturday night live sucking in the mid 90s. that's all that i can think of right now (because i have trouble remembering things past a few weeks ago).

beanie babies! i forgot about that! those were HUGE!

And rugrats and the show "doug" on nickolodean!

And the FIRST EVER KIDS CHOICE AWARDS on nickaladion! Yup, i remember i was SO Excited about that when i was a little kid.

Britney spears, BSB and N'Sync and the rest of the pop invasion happened right at 99'. Right along with the Latin invasion( jennifer lopez, ricky martin, enrique...)

The stuff you've mentioned has been really great. Ah, what it's like to reminsce(sp?) Keep those ideas coming!

Interesting that the fads you're talking about were just the same in Britain. However the music I think of is different - Nirvana, and over here, Blur. The nineties was their decade.

What about fashion? I think fashion was pretty boring actually, not really off-the-wall like the sixties/seventies.

I've often wondered this myself, being born in 1989.

TV Shows: Barney, Seseme Street, My Little Ponies.
Fads: Yo-yos!
Music: Anything by Spice Girls, Hanson, or that Spanish guy?
Toys: Beanie Babies, Furbys, Light n' Bright
