I use the NIV. Not the best, I realize, but I'm not about to go out and buy another Bible when all I ever use it for is debates like this.

That is an example of why the bible cannot be trusted as fact. It has been translated and rewritten so many times that you don't know if you are reading what was actually intended to be written. The bible is not an exact translation and it is reworded which makes the chances of it being 100% the same as the original very very unlikely.
