There is ageism. My psychology teacher talks to us about it. He tells us about how a lot of his adult friends feel sorry for him having to teach teenagers, and they feel it must be tough because we are all trouble makers! I find a lot of it funny. Like if you go into central london, and walk down the street so many business men move out of my way in fear, and I'm not goin to do anything, I don't look particualrly intimidating (well, you can judge for yourself from my profile picture, but I'm no Tito Oritz!!), but yet they are scared for the mere fact I'm a youth! On tubes as well, if an older person is looking at you, give them like one look back, and they quickly turn away, and stare at their feet. You get a lot of looks on tubes and buses from the older people 60+, looking at you oddly, in fear or in disgust! I find it ironic, as usually if an old person gets on the train or bus, I'm the first to offer my seat up, the business men just sit there!

I hate ageism. I always feel like I have an image to uphold and like I have to pick up the slack for the teens who give us a bad name. I work at a fast food restaurant, which is bad enough, but then you have people talking in slow-mo like we're imbeciles. We're not slow, we're just young. Or you'll have adults glaring at us at some nice public event like we're gonna whip out a 30 pack and have Frank the Tank do a keg stand with us.

However, that kid had allegedly done it REPEATEDLY FOR FIVE YEARS or more. I would be a little pissed, no matter the age of the person. I am not at all sanctifying what he did in his moment of rage, but I don't think age really played a huge role in that case.

If that was an adult, do you think they would have been shot?
No, probably not. Teens are discriminated against, it's true. It's part of the isms. Also how you're not allowed to drink until 21, but you can go to war at 18. What's that about? They'd rather you go kill someone in another country than have a beer huh? There are adults who never grew up, and children who grow up much too fast because of this. But instead of being thought of on their maturity level..we're thought about by age. It's wrong. And I wish it would stop.

Oh my god. Why would they put these near shops? What, adults don't shoplift? Adults don't commit crime? JUST THE OTHER DAY A TEENAGER GOT SHOT MY A MAN FOR WALKING ON HIS PRIZED GRASS. If that was an adult, do you think they would have been shot?

quote: Places where you look for work (fish and chip shops, etc) tend to abuse the fact your a teen. They pay u cash-in-hand because then they have more power over you. They can drop you anythime, and you can't fight it.
Being a teen who employs other teens, I will have to side with the employer on this on. Though their payment isn't acceptable with US regulation, the fact that they cna drop you anytime certainly is. Teens do, in fact, tend to be worse employees, mostly because they are not dependent on the money they make, so they do not value their job. I might have it easy, because I am a peer to my employees, but I rarely have a problem. I also don't run a fast-food restaurant, but I do understand the employer's feelings on teens.

Of course there is. When you walk into a shop with your teenage friends what do they do? Keep and eye on you at all times, check your bags and even make you leave your bags and the front of the store. Whereas if it were adults, it would be differnt. Places where you look for work (fish and chip shops, etc) tend to abuse the fact your a teen. They pay u cash-in-hand because then they have more power over you. They can drop you anythime, and you can't fight it. Alot of parents hate teens. Think about it
