our world is separted between ugly and cute. what really makes someone ugly. the shape of their nose the color of their skin or the length of their hair. many people our victims of verbal abuse everyday. comments like nerd,punk,gay,les,and emo. is all this a division thats neccesary people think discrimanation is over but in reality its still alive. at school their a separation between punks,nerds,gays ,and popular coolkids. verbal abuse,dang,its bad what do you think

ugly is an opinion. so is hot. and both can make or break a person's self-esteem, and the way they see themselves.
personally, i am somewhat shallow, and i would like a partner who is easy on the eye. however, i have previously had boyfriends who have been considered 'ugly' and yet i've thought they were freaking adorable.

My school took out all the soda. Wanna know that they put in instead? SPORTS DRINKS. No sport drink is good for you. The exception being if you are actually playing a sport and water it down. The food guide pyramid has been changed, many schools have removed vending machines and pop machines and added better foods for lunch. The nation is becoming more aware of obesity causing many diseases, even cancers. But yes because of ignorance and lazy people "health" means a good weight, no matter what you have to do to get there.

I didnt think of it in past terms, I was actually speaking for now. But that being said it is true that what society deems beautiful changes with time and evolution. We have evolved into this health crazed nation, our last "craze" was super skinny, which was not healthy at all. And many people still deem this as beautiful (celebs and super models).... Yes but being heavier with pale skin used to be attractive because that meant you we rich enought to eat and have people do work for you...

What is beautiful and what is not all depends on society.

testing123 you cant have one without the other.... it is cause and effect.... when people dont take care of themselves, they sometimes gain weight because of it and society judges them because of their weight, often with the word "ugly".

I too have often wondered what makes ugly or pretty, and I think that alot of it has to do with how people take care of themselves, you know like in the movies the "ugly" girl finally pulls her hair down and puts on makeup and everyone is like....WOW

Personality is of course some of it but I am speaking purly outward here.

I think that nearly anyone can take what they have been given and work with it somehow.

I can't say I can think of one group or category taht people tend to fall into that is completely ugly. For me, I think that someones personality is the only thing that can truly show ugliness.

Ugly is an opinion. It can refer to an individual's inner or outer qualities. Usually, most people find those who are more semetricle to be more attractive. However, it is common that people who are completely semsetricle are found to be unattractive. Yet, it is an opinion so it is hard to say what is ugly and what is pretty.

I don't think there is a standard for "ugly." Someone who I think is beautiful might seem ugly to you. But I think how you act affects how people see your appearance as well.

ugly and all the other labels are just opinions. you cant act like you know someone just by looking at them. just because you say they are something doesnt make them that. They decide what they are and if you are really that interested in them ask them what they think.

What is ugly? hmm...I think it depends on a person's personality. Maybe the person is cocky and picky who knows? I don't really know the diffrence is. Some people chose outside beauty and some chose inside beauty so its all on a persons point of view.

Believe it or not clpo. those images were procured by google image search. The first woman was found in an "hot fat women site", the second is a picture of a model, and the third is an ordinary picture of a heathly weighted women (on a jogging page as I remember). If you want pictures of hot healthy weighted women, I can post them for you if you like.

Let me test some other things here.
Do you believe that old women are just as attractive as young women?
Do you believe that unhealthy women are just as attractive as healthy women?
Do you believe that flat-chested-ness is just as attractive as big-breasted-ness?
Do you believe that short legs are just as attractive as long legs?
If you could DEMAND that these things are the case, that would be awesome.
