Pedophile: a person who is sexually attracted to a child or children

homesexual: a person who is attracted to someone of the same gender

Ok, I've been notincing a lot of cheap excuses against gays in this site. The dumbest of all is the "I heard that a gay man raped and murdered a boy..." story.

Why is it so idiotic? Because a person who likes kids are pedophiles (think Jacko), and gays/lesbians are sexually attracted to someone of the same gender, not someone 30 years younger.

I dont know what it is (the media, or whatever) that has implied on some people's cranium that gays like kids and rape them.

A person can be a pedophile and be gay too, fine, but the 98% percent of gays are in no ways pedophiles.

So stop being against gays because of that specific reason.

It's not just science or nature. It's alos nurture. You can have as much testerone as you want and that doesn't make you a pedophile.

It's like the endless media representation of minorities.

We always hear more about blacks who commit crimes than whites, leading us to believe that blacks are more violent than whites.

You always hear about teens who do stupid things. This leads us to believe that teens do stupid things moreso than adults.

They were talking about Catholic priests molesting kids, implying that it is only the Catholic Church that has problems with ministers and children.

You see? It is all because we hear about homosexual pedophiles moreso than heterosexual pedophiles because, frankly, the media thinks it is more interesting. End of story.

No I believe the main point behind this thread is defending gays as not being pedophiles. I don't think anyone made that point.

Pedophiles are not necessarily gay. However, they can be. A male pedophile who sexually assaults a boy is obviously attracted to the boy. Age makes no difference of gender obviously. This is a very small minority of gay people. Hence, it is irrational to be against them because they are "pedophilic."

Most people tend to agree that about 5% of the American population is gay/lesbian/bisexual. If 98% of them are not pedophiles, then that means 2% percent are. 300,000,000 (American population) x 0.05 (percentage of gay people)= 15,000,000 (gay population). 15,000,000 (gay population) x 0.02 (percentage of possible gay pedophiles)= 300,000 (possible gay pedophiles). Not all that unlikely that 98% are NOT pedophiles.

So if 300,000 gay people are pedophiles, and 3,000,000 to 15,000,000 other people are, (300,000/3,000,000=0.10)(300,000/15,000,000=0.02) that means 2% to 10% of all pedophiles are gay. Therefore, the overwhleming majority of pedophiles are straight males. Uh-oh.
