everyone has their preferences, but i think interracial dating is totally okay. To me, its absurd for anyone to be opposed to it, thats just the way i was raised. i was raised to have a really open mind.

I saw this and just had to reply. Out of my moms 6 kids three of us can date, my older sister who is 20, myself I'm 17, and my younger sister who is 14. Guess what everyone of us dates black guys. Alot of that has to do with where we are from which is northern Jersey in the ghetto ( if you have ever been to Newark you know what I am talking about), in that particular part of Jersey it is all blacks, hispanics, and italians. But anyways to be honest I date a very successful black man who makes almost 75,000 a year or more on his own, and I do daycare during the day so how am I helping him claim a higher status in society? The world needs to realize that interracial relationships are happening more and more, in due time there will be no difference between race, the races will have all converged and to me that's a good thing, what better way to end racism then to have one race. Honestly I am enraged by people against interracial relationships I see them as being closed minded and racist, besides you love who you love, you can't help that.

I personally do not see anything wrong with interracial dating or marriage for that matter. But let me remind those against whites dating blacks and vice versa, that blacks could date mexicans, and indonesians, and asians, etc. the same goes for whites. So you see dating a black would be the same as dating a mexican or an asian or whatever. All i am saying is that if your going to say that whites and blacks should not date then research it more. So what if they date opposite races. it is not like they would be commiting murder or anything.

I've dated black guys before, mostly because there are no white guys in the city, but anyways, my parents weren't too happy about it. They didn't try to stop us, though.

Thankfully for me, my parents have never had a problem with interracial dating. I'm Hispanic and my boyfriend is African-American. I have always believed in the equality of all races. Non is greater than the other.

Thats seriously horrible. I don't believe in any "race" other then the human race. Skin color doesn't matter at all. I would say, on this issue, go for it. Defy your mother. Don't be cruel about it, don't shove it in her face or flaunt it, but treat it just like you would if you were dating someone white. Your mom will probably eventually get over it and accept. (Especially if she gets to know him/her) and if she doesn't... well... you can't spend your whole life in the shadow of what your parents believe.

I would punch my mom in the teeth if she ever uttered a racial comment against my girlfriend. Happily, this will never happen, being that my brother married a black woman, (the coolest sister-in-law on the planet, and a very beautiful lady, a true class-act) and she can never stop doting on my niece and nephew, who are the apples of her eyes.

What ur mom is saying is racist, and i totally dont beleive in it. My dad is like that, and i feel that if i dated a black guy, he would flip out, but i wouldn't tell him anyway. Black ppl r just the exact same ppl as white ppl. there is absolutly no difference except the color of their skin...and theres nothing wrong with that. I would never treat anybody different because of the color of their skin. i think that it is just wrong. My opinion on interracial dating is this. As a black female who is dating a mixed (his mom is mixed and his dad is white so hes more white then black) male, I have never in my life seen a problem with it. The fact that blacks use it to better themselves is a false statement. Although there may those few who are, many just do it cause thats who they want to be with. This world is based on interracial relationships. I know I'm not just ALL black, and you might be ALL white, we all have different things in us. America isn't an All anything nation, and to try to separate yourself from it, could cause you to separate yourself from what you may be. Whether that be white, black, asian, or latino.
