Well, I made this after I was pissed at my friend for liking this ******* rap song. Then I see one on TV and say to myself, "What the **** is wrong with people?!" But, no, people will never stop stating their opinions. But according to you, people just shouldn't state their opinions. All these discussions are years old, but are still discussed today, so you're also suggesting we should ALL stop posting here, period. I don't think that would go over to well.

Ok that's your opinion about rap and i respect that. But i don't respect the way you said it. I mean come on are you going to give people a bunch a bull who happen to like rap? Just because they like rap doesn't mean they don't like any other kind of music. I mean today we can go around and state our opinions like this. Its called freedom of speech. And my opinion is that you need to calm the frick down. My god I mean wouldn't you get ticked if i sat here and started harping on you for liking techno? Or any other kind of music you like? Of course you would. And this board is crap. I mean why startup something that has been going on for years? People who like rock generally dont like rap and people who like rap dont generally like rock (notice i said generally) I mean this discussion has gone on for god knows how long. If it hasn't stopped by now what makes you think that your opinions going to stop it?

its hardly better than classical. at least you have talent doing classical music becuz you can play an instrument! rap is just making up rhymes (which really anyone can do) and having computer-generated sounds and beats put into it. sorry but i dont think rap requires any talent.
but, ill give it this, at least its fun to dance to! [phoenix, the nite of june 12 :-D]

I read books thank you very much. And hitler may have been smart but he was extremely corrupt. but you're right. This thread isn't about Hitler.

I have a copy from 1939. How could it be banned if it's in my school library too? I don't think the U.S. Government can even ban a book from the public. Unless it tells you how to build a bomb or something, which Mein Kampf doesn't.
And I'm not reading it for his views, just his life. It's more interesting than the lives of almost anyone else. He was a lot smarter than any of you *******es. Maybe you could also, oh I don't know, learn a thing or two by opening a book.
But this thread isn't on Mein Kampf, it's about Rap. But I forgot that Retro-Rap was the only worthwhile rap. They didn't rap all about crap no one cares about in ebonics.

U know there are alot of rappers that rap about good things too. i mean i can't stand the sound of it. its people like eminem that drive me crazy. After sept. 11, his whining about how his life sux has been kind of pointless. But thankfully not ALL rappers are like him.

I don't like rap personally, but i do think it's music, It has notes, it has beats it has a tune, all of the above... Dictionary definition: The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm.
A musical composition. The written or printed score for such a composition. Such scores considered as a group: We keep our music in a stack near the piano. A musical accompaniment. A particular category or kind of music. An aesthetically pleasing or harmonious sound or combination of sounds: the music of the wind in the pines.

dude, it's music, it's just that the lyrics are funny, and he has some good beats behind them. Just go to frontalot.com and listen to , oh, say, gonna be your man. Sounds like a love song, right? It's actually about organ transplants.

listen to MC Frontalot. Rap is just his medium. Comedy is the message delivered. I mean, the most hard core thing he mentions in the songs are "the litter and the loiter and the mattress tags, all the piratated MP3s I bag". Really, a genre is a style, and enough talent can make just about anything good.
