I was just wondering why more and more people here are posting their posts with curse words and dirty words. I mean, is that even necessary?
To me, it sounds disrespectful and its as if people who use those words, especially teens have no regard for others at all, whether they might have offended others or not. And it also implies they have no values.
I am just curious to know coz its seems as if most people here use curse words or dirty words in their sentences. Cant you speak without saying those words? Or is it really necessary to speak of such things so you will be heard? or is it an act of rebelliousness? or do you have no respect at all?
Using dirty language is one thing that makes people misunderstand each other. I just hope teens realize its really a bad influence to children and to oters as well.

I don't think they are nessecery. I think less of someone when I hear them cuss. I personally try very hard not to cuss, even when I am really mad. I have friends who cuss, but they know I don't and they generally respect that. I think people gain more respect by watching their mouth. I mean, I know there are people out there who are like "they are just words!!", but words have a lot of power. They can lead people to commit suicide, steal, and do so much harm. They can also lead people to continue living and do so much good. So dude, keep it clean. I mean, people a lot of times don't let their kids cuss, so why should they??

I feel that curse words are necessary because they are a form of expression. Anything u do or say is an expression of what you're thinking or feeling. It really depends on why the person is saying it and how they feel at that moment

Hmmm ....
I'm gonna say they aren't really necessary, but I don't understand how they can offend some people. They're just words to me, and people use them to make a point I guess. They all make me laugh.

So uhm if you don't care about the post DaHood...then don't post in it. By the fact that you posted you are admitting (is it one t or two?) that you do care about it. Or that you are a pompous bigot. Either way say something important or leave don't waste peoples' time.

Heh. I skim till I see my name. This one payed off. Thanks for making me laugh a little.

How touching. (Cause that's now 3 people that I supposedly am perfect for from YN: Stupidity, Kharybdhis and now Aguagon? Holy mother of god.) And Jamaica. Look at my profile. Well if you know what the blanked out portion means then it is a serious word and what not but it isn't used anymore. The only reason my uncle knew it is because his parents used it. I mean whatever. And howYOUdoin good point. Just because someone is tired doesn't mean they can't have an opinion. And I am sorry but trying to convince someone of something by using baby talk has never worked and probably never will. My take on cuss words is use the adjectively not as a noun. Calling someone a cuss word is not cool at all because then you are just making assumptions about the person and what not. Like saying that god damn piece of **** mother ****ing lawnmower won't start is okay though.

You seriously lack the skills to conjure a proper insult.

I find that insulting. You obviously know nothing about depressed people, so don't even try to put us into one category.

Oh oh I know. Because half of the words that get blanked out in my posts are words I don't consider dirty or bad. Like *****. Why is ***** a bad word? I am gay and saying h o m o s is bad apparently ::shrug::. And wris****ch. I didn't even know what the blank word meant until I asked my uncle because YN blanked it out. Lets see I couldn't say...grrr trying to remember the other one that baffled me. Oh well shrug point is that could be a reason also.

Focusing on the no respect part. I do not respect people until they earn it and I expect no less from anyone else talking to me. That's one of the things that I can't stand. Complete strangers demanding my respect because they think they deserve it. I worked with a man in a restaraunt once and he was my favorite person in the whole world and he agreed with me (although he didn't agree with me on everything). I would always call him Mr. Bill and he would always stop me and tell me "Don't call me Mister I haven't earned it."

If you cant obey one simple rule, then i must think you cant obey or wont obey the other rules also

You can't get a more inaccurate statement than that.

quote:
is it really necessary to speak of such things so you will be heard? or is it an act of rebelliousness? or do you have no respect at all?

So you will be heard? incorrect.
An act of rebellion? incorrect.
No respect at all? incorrect.

Cursing is a common form or release for many. Yes, there will be a sore thumb in the crowd who just does it to get attention. The best thing to do about that is to pass that person over. But I see you're too immature to realize that when people swear it will not put our world to a brutal execution.

Yea, it might annoy you, but you will hear people swearing like pirates for the rest of your life.

The only thing I can say to your animosity towards swearing is grow the **** up and get the **** over it, you sour *****.

I find it ceaselessly amusing that after all I've said on context, you post this. Winning arguments is pretty easy, Jamaica, when you make up your opponent's half of the argument.
quote:
Wow.... maybe in your sleep, you talk to yourself and say cuss words while your saliva is rolling around your mouth.

If I start drooling in my sleep, I assure you, I won't be thinking of dirty words. It will much more likely be dirty something else.
quote:
Oh, by the way, my life isnt so miserable, i have good friends who treat me with respect, friends i could really rely on and friends who just use cuss words like a freak.

I never said your life was miserable. And also, you might want to re-read what you wrote. I'm pretty sure it's not what you meant to say.
quote:
I believe that those who dont live their lives meaningfully are the ones who attempts to have suicide easily or picks up arguements almost all the time... like you.

Just for your benefit, I'll summarize how this thread has gone for you:
Jamaica: "I think curse words are bad. What do you think?"
Aguagon: "I think that's only selectively true. At times they can be a good thing."
Jamaica: "You evil, bad, bad man! How dare you argue with me? It means you live a meaningless life and are therefore more likely to kill yourself!"
Note that this summary is obviously taking huge leaps away from reality. For example, you would never actually say "therefore".
quote:
Maybe you should substitute your Philosophy teacher say cuss words in front of all the students. YOu're so good at explaining things it amazes me.... Too bad, your explanations is curving to the "danger zone".

I ask you: what could possibly be a more dangerous philosophy than "I'm good and you're bad?"
quote:
Sleep tight Aguagon.....mwah! Thank you for your insight...

Thank you, and no problem.
