I need help to figure out if its actually not legal to be gay and be in the Boy Scouts of America. I don't want to have to hide my sexuality and I really hate hiding it and having to argue with kids about gays and such. So is it really not ok to have gays in scouting??

It's a private organization so they can do whatever they want. It might not be fair, but that's how it is. However, I believe there are rules about where they're allowed to meet if they refuse to accept gays in their troop. For instance, some schools do not allow them to meet on school property and toher towns don't allow them to use town space for free.

But, not all troops follow the anti-gay boyscout rules. If it's important for you to be out to everyone, as I imagine it is, then Boy Scouts might not be an option. You have to weigh the possibilities.
