I ran for congress of my school for this current school year at the end of last and unfortunatly lost by less than 5 votes in a class of 125. I spoke my mind. I didn't hold back my feelings. I actually don't care if the popular kids don't like me because of my intent to reach out the the new administration or working with them to create a ipod policy or class offerings. I will be going to more BOE meetings to learn what is going on in my school district, while my congress representitives are at home playing HALO 2 or watching 24. Will I run again when May/June rolls around? Yes. Why? Because I know that I can do good for my friends and classmates. I will tell them what they need to do to get things done and will tell them what they need to be concerned or happy about. I will protect traditions, but not the Senior Service Auction. Why? Because it is racist! I have my own opinions and want to work to make my HS a better place. You need to fing out what you believe in. You need to get that message out to your peers. You need to ask yourself why your running. If you cant come up with any good reason, drop out. But if you have a strong desire to run, run.
