Who among the well-known people today or anyone who should be a role model for teens? Big Grin

I would like the late Princess Diana to be the role model for teens coz i even if her personal life during her marriage isnt so nice, i would have to say, her works of kindness is really something that should make us be proud of her and she is a role model to us. Her deep respect and love for others should be our inspiration in helping others oo and in respecting those who are less unfortunate than us. Wink

I don't thikn this is a very fair question...everyone has different values, so it really isn't the greatest question..but if i could choose i wouldn't say someone but maybe a song...like...Linkin Park-Breaking the habit, Rob stewart-Forever young, The beetles-I will. (talks about love...from a kathryn hepburn movie) Things like that really great me to try to better myself...

"The reason that I don't dress trashy is that I'm trying to set an example for little girls," Orrico said. "From the time they're seven or eight years old, (girls) are being taught that the only thing that makes them special and beautiful is their sexuality, and I think that's wrong."Orrico, wearing a loose, long-sleeved white shirt and jeans, said she doesn't approve of the revealing clothing.
"I don't think that's sexy, I think it's degrading," the bubbly 17-year-old said. "I think that (being) a truly sexy woman comes from being confident and being classy, respectable and mature."
The singer also weighed in on Janet Jackson 's breast-baring incident at the Super Bowl, calling the stunt "unnecessary." "I definitely don't think that she's a good example." Orrico said.

I got this article from an entertainment section of a newspaper and S. Orrico really deserves my applause and that she deserves to be a role model for teens these days. Smile

Singer Orrico Decries Spears, Aguilera
(AP, 02/15/2004 7:09 AM) By Gillian Wong

Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera promote "degrading" sexuality that makes them bad role models for young girls, U.S. chart-topping Christian singer Stacie Orrico said Saturday before the MTV Asia Award
Orrico, the fresh-faced pop singer from Nashville, Tenn., told reporters before her performance at the awards that it worries her to see girls emulating Spears and Aguilera.
Orrico was nominated for Best Breakthrough Artist. "Stacie Orrico" made No. 5 on Billboard's Top Contemporary Christian Albums list this month.

I think Cheese is the only role model we need.

(And I wasn't here for this, but who cares)

The Holy Pineapple is the Only OTHER role model we need...

(In truth now: I think anyone you respect makes a good role model. Just as long as you don't get too carried away...)

It's already not a good idea to try sarcasm on forums. Text doesn't convey that emotion very well. However, should you have the simply uncontrollable urge to do so, please use smiley faces or something if you don't want someone to fire back.

I think that teens shouldn't have role models because your role models just let you down all the time because all stars do something like Ashlee Simpson was a big role model until her Saturday Night Live thing and now look wut happened. She let her fans down. ( not that i am one)

I don't think role models are gender specific but i uess it depends on the person. I know some guys are comfortable looking up to women.

My role model is Ellen Degeneres.

I think our parents or uncles/aunts shoul be our role models. My Dad left my family when I was 7, so I never had a role model like that. It's hard to grow up without that part of your life.
