"These Wounds Don't Seem to Heal..." I was listening to this evanescence song one day and the lyrics were...all right. But then that one verse caught my attention. It seems that a lot of people can identify with that one sentence. Something so horrible or so upsetting happens to you, and it leaves you absolutely devastated. Sometimes you'll forget about it for a while and your okay, it seems like your over it; but then one day it comes back to you and you live through it over and over again (no matter what the situation) along with another 3 weeks of crying awake at night. Recently though, I read this article that a psychologist had written. It had said that if something dramatic has happened to you, you would normally be over it in 1-3 months depending on the situation. If you are still upset, scared, or angry for a longer amount of time, it's classified as Trauma. You can't get over it, the experience keeps coming back to you. You can never seem to get over what happened. Which brought me back to the evanescence verse: These Won't Seem To Heal. Even though the song is generally talking about her breaking up with her boyfriend, it brought me to a whole new understanding of the word, "Trauma". I still want to know though how many can actually relate to that verse? Do you kind of get where I'm coming from with this?

Tough times come and go but that is apart of life. Yeah, if something goes terribly wrong in your life you grieve it or somehow overcome it. After that, no matter what you do it will always be with you whether it's good or bad. But hopefully it will make something good out of you or make you want something good for youself. It can be a platform to reach out and help other people who are going what you went through. You will always have it to carry with you and something will always take you back to that time and make you feel sad or all the other flood gate emotions but you can't let it hold you down for long because if you let it than you will be missing out on some pretty cool stuff in life. I hope this helps.
I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha

Anyone can get over anything if they just realize there are more important things, and better things to look forward to.

I understand where you're coming from, I really do, but don't ever think that you can't overcome something. Say that someone you love dies and your grieving because you loved them with all you heart. That doesn't mean that you're going to grieve your entire life. Yeah it may hurt at first but it won't hurt always. It may come back but you can get through it. Don't give up.

Becky, Gem wasn't very rude. She commented on how the singers don't write their own music. It wasn't particularly rude. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

Gem is right. They have to write their own stuff now, lol. So it's probably going to be soo different.

The music is/was primarily written by a man named Ben Moody. And he has left the "team," joining Avril Lavigne's posse. Yes; "good" music.

Maybe it has something to do with decent music and a hot singer who has a good voice.

I do not understand why everyone is obsessed with Evanescence. It's rather irritating.

I know what you mean,I thought the same when I heard that song. I think some evanescence songs have the most wonderful lyrics... but in my mind the wounds she's talking about are on the inside, things that scar your mind and never really go away, and I relate to it because I think everybody has those sort of scars.

I understand what you're saying... I feel the same way about that line in the song (which is a beautiful song, by the way) Yeah it's probably about her breaking up with some guy that treated her badly (what an ***... How he could do that is sucky ) but I still take it to mean that it's about me and an ex breaking up, because even if you stop feeling so intensely, that feeling never really goes away. I don't know if it's really a wound, but I know that it does hurt.
