I've heard about that Shade. They celebrate the persons life rather than concentrate on their death.

In some traditions, forgive me for their names escape me, they would have first a funeral, sad and mournful, letting the person pass on, and then they would have a celebration or a feast, and set out a place for the dead. Smile

i dont get why it is that everything at a funeral has to be sad it should be a celebration of that persons lif and all the things and good that they did in thier life

I laughed loudly at my friend's funeral when everyone was still filing in, viewing the body and giving the condolences (mainly cause I had to keep sane SOMEHOW).

I had to stop myself from laughing aloud during the eulogy. Let's just say, if you talk to a person in your head, don't say something stupidly funny when you're coming out of shock.

I once laughed at a funeral as well. I think that the reality of that person passing away hadn't hit me yet. I don't generally do well in funerals. Not that there is such a thing as doing well in funerals...

I laughed at a funeral. Loudly. When everyone else was quiet, when the priest was giving his speach. And I laughed for a long time. And people stared at me.

Yep.

And I would never feel pain / and never be without pleasure, ever, again / and if the reign stops, and everything's dry, he would cry just so I could drink the tears from his eyes...

I would think that that is what it is.

And I laughed at Clpos comment. I feel horrible for laughing at it in this thread...

Shade, you stalker!

Anyways, I'm sorry for your friend. The only thing to do is comfort him. Life sucks sometimes, worse for some than for others. But things always get better.
