Dante, the abortion thing had everything to do with your "concerns" about the kids dying overseas. I feel the same way about them; I love little kids, I honestly do.

Tigercat, you should read some of the publications by "Jews for Justice in the Middle East." The authors are Jewish scholars who totally refute the argument that the Jews are any more or less entitled Palestine than the Arabs. The fact is, what we know as Israel is the original homeland of neither the Jews nor the Arabs. The Jews going back as more or less a colonial force in the late 19th century would be like me going back to the house I grew up in and ask the current residents to move out (or in this case, I would put them on the street and kill those who would resist). Anyway, these scholars (Jews mind you) totally advocate Israel pulling back to at least their 1967 borders. And as for the Zionists having historical "claim" to the land, the authors point out that

i think most people need to get their facts straight(even the people who live there) about some of the history of this land.... all the people that say it was the palestinian's land first.. i hate to break it to you but... wrong! it was jews that lived there before the ancestors of modern day palestinians.... BUT they were gone from this area for many many many many years during this time the land was settled by many different groups of people(including the ancestors of modern palestinians).. as far as what is going on now... it is just as much one side as it is the other... although the 2 main peace treaty and land divisions were turned down by the palestinians....
