June 5th is when my bf comes back from Florida...and then 6 days until he leaves for 3 months. So I don't think I'll be celebrating the environment, thankyouverymuch. And happy early birthday, blue!

I'm sure you do.

I'll be sure to send you a NOISEmail for your birthday, then. And for Environment day, I guess. Wow, it has been dead for a year. *Die!* *Rebury thyself!*

... A year. This thread was dead for nearly a year. Is anyone paying attention?

I totally agree with you, we do need to do more to protect the enviroment. If we don't do something we are going to lose animals, plants, and other organisms that are needed to help keep the entire world going. For example, if we continue to kill off sharks because of our fears, we are going to end up messing up the food chain in a dramatic way, sharks help keep the population of fish and other aquatic animals in check. I am behind you all the way, it is so nice to talk to other people who share the same goals and ideas.

quote: Save the jobs, forget the environment
Unemployment is a much more serious problem than say the destruction of forest by loggers. We need our products that use wood, and the loggers need thier jobs. And that goes for any kind of worker, including one that operates a building with a smokestack to the KFC workers who have to cut of the chicken's beeks to keep them from eating each other.
I find it retarded and lacking compasion somewhat that the enviromentalists of the left care more about some animals and trees than the worker who has a family to feed.
Excuse me? there ARE other jobs out there that are kind to the animals and the environment. Are you saying that just because someone has a job and is getting money to feed thier family, that what the job is effecting doesn't matter? what about hired hitmen? payed terrorists? what about them, I'm sure they have a family to feed with their dirty money? How about bank robbers or the mofia? they need thier money too, don't they? or is it just jobs that are murder on animals and they environment but dont directy effect people or *you* that you care about protecting. ps; the chickens DON'T try to eat eachother, thier beaks are cut off to provent them from peacking or attacking eachother.

To controdict both of you i beleave that we shold balence economy with conservation. If we dont pay any atention to conservation we would live in a very trash toxic type wold wich makes it harder for every one to live but if we pay all atentoin to consevation there would be wars over oil in national forist and in coaral reefs and we would be poor and have no life. so i think we should balence it as best as possible. also another point. Americans dont cut down the rain forist for paper any way, we have cropes of trees just like we have crops of corn and shugar cane and soy beans we have crops or trees so loggers and there famileys have nothing to do with it and using paper is infact helpnig the economy not herting consevation efforts. If any one has any coment please im me at MusicalMermaid29

First of all, you spelled "beaks" and "compassion" wrong. Second of all, you probably offended many people by using the word "retarded." Before you dis something again, please make yourself at least sound smart. You have a really valid point... there are so many things on this earth that need our help that it can sometimes seem pointless to help out some causes rather than others... perfectly understandable. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and some may want to support different causes than ones that you want to support simply because all people have different views on the world. An "environmentalist' can't tell you to protest deforestation or meat packing plants, just like you can't tell them to stop supporting causes that they belive in so they can support causes that you believe in. So you see, we can make this world a better place just by caring and helping out, but everyone has a different way of accomplishing that. I hope that anyone who reads this takes this to heart...
