I live by San Francisco and a load controversy has spread about animal rights mostly do to activists. A neighborhood in the city which is known as Rodeo(not pronounced the same way as bull riding) and activists want the name changed. They feel as though it suggests the "rodeo" in which animals are ridden showing harsh treatment. They feel as though the name should be changed to Unity Drive. I'm completely against especially considering the fact that this area is only a mile away from the "cow" palace, the same place in which the BB circus was proteseted. Rodeo is more historical then anything else. Please reply any feelings about vegans and this incident.

Most of these activists do these petty little stunts really just for the publicity. They fight a little while, and if the city caves, they're really happy and gain more support/respect. If the city doesn't cave after a while they usually go away.
As concerning the actual issue, animals are cute, sure. Animals are loveable and all that. Animals can suffer and feel pain and all. Torturing animals for the fun of it may be fun to some loser teens that have nothing better to do, but I think most people will agree that its just plain dumb, if not a waste.
However, the homo sapien species is an omnivore. Even if you don't believe the Bible and man's responsibility to care of animals and use them to maximum benefit, man is built, by "Mother Nature" if you prefer, to eat meat. We are the most complex of predators, and our body chemistry is designed to make best use of the proteins found specifically in meat, and our teeth are designed for meat/stringy cutting not plant mashing. (thus the term "omnivore")

I am sorry, but that is just stupid. It's just a stupid street sign! What's the point? Also, I think that eating animals is not a bad thing. We are animals, and vegans don't complain when lions and such eat other animals. At that matter, they eat plants, mushrooms, etcetera, and those are all alive too. We are not so high and mighty that we can't eat meat or animal products.

Remember...these PETA activists who are trying to get the name changed value the lives of wild animals over humans. I don't think anyone can take them seriously.
