I am sure all of you have heard about the recall in California. So, what do you think? Is it a rediculas waste of time, or do you think the terminater, the porn star, the rock band, or the analist could really do a good job? Please state your opinion.

One good thing about the recall is that it would be nice if we could recall Nancy Pelosi, or, for that matter, the rest of the Democratic thugs.
(Well, there are a few exceptions, at least in the midwest and south, but not many.)

calcoastsurfer:
I live in California too. I agree with you that Davis was a total scumbag, but: a) the rolling black-outs and all the energy problems you refer to aren't a recent problem. If that's enough of a reason to recall Davis, why didn't we vote him out of office in the regularly scheduled election last year? b) I don't think you can really blame the entire budget problem on Davis. The US economy in general has taken a turn for the worse, AND the Silicon Valley tech bubble burst a couple years ago, which certainly wasn't under Davis's control. c) you complain about a lack of education funding. Do you seriously think getting Arnold in charge of our budget is going to turn that around? He's fiscally conservative, end of story.
I understand the appeal of Schwarzenegger. Davis seemed kinda crazy, and maybe Schwarzenegger will have more integrety simply because of his lack of political experience. I don't think that's a good enough reason to put him in charge.
Besides, the entire idea of a Republican-prompted recall really sketches me out. Don't get me wrong, I'm hate Davis as much as the next guy - but it seems like kinda dirty fighting.

actually I don't think Schwarzenegger can be President. You have to be a Natural Born Citizen right?

Also, I live in California, and a lot of people don't think that the recall was a good idea. They think it was a waste and we should have just waited it out. However, constant rolling blackouts because of the energy crisis, P.G.&E raised their heating prices like 33% I think it was, and all sorts of things have just been awful. I don't go to a public school, but I hear that a lot has been going on in those too. They have been cutting teachers so they cram the students more and more into one room. One person I know has over 200 people in one class. The recall was neccessary. Before Davis we had a surplus, now we have a HUGE defecit that will take MORE than a new governor too save. Probably several terms. As for California going to the dogs, I agree, it has, thanks very much to Grey Davis. Living in other states, you hear about the recall, but not too much about why so many people what it to happen. It was 100% worth it. And besides, we just needed Davis out of office. Schwartzenager (can't spell his name, haha) may not have been the best candidate, but anyone is better than Davis. If we wanted Davis back, and if we felt that the recall was a mistake, we would have voted against it.

I think Davis has done a real crappy job but it isn't grounds for a recall.
I wish we could recall Bush though... oh well, only another year, right?
