To further that, America is a completely different country than Mexico, differen't cultral heritage, different structures of government, not to mention that Mexico is knee deep in corruption, crime, and poverty. The only "reason" people make that statement is because there are millions of illegals coming into this country and they feel that we owe them something.

I knew this was coming. It doesn't matter who's land it was then, the Mexicans lost it all through peace successions, revolutions, and legal sale. It's America's now, and it has been for over 150 years. It's not like they have a right to it. Tell me, for what logical reason would Mexico become part of the US? Would it be in the US's intrests? No. It's just another "we should be considerate of these people because we're in a better position than them" peice of BS.

Exactly. That's another question my history teacher proposed to the class. What if all of a sudden Baja, and all of Mexico became part of the U.S.? The land we're living on now originally belonged to Mexico anyway. And before them native americans, but the land used to be Mexico.

quote: You don't have any family members who are illegal immigrants.
The fact that they're a family member doens't enter into it. What part of ILLEGAL immigrant is legal and innocent? They can come into this country legally by becoming citizens, and currently there is no limit to this as far as I know. However, they chose to break the law, and basically take money out of this country. I'm not saying their stealing jobs, I'm saying they're literally taking money out of this country. Most illegals work seasonal jobs, and take what they make back to Mexico. With an estimated 3 million illegals in the country, if we use the rediculously low average of 2 thousand dollars a person, you have 6 Billion dollars leached out of the country per year. That's unacceptable. quote: I think that this is wrong to allow illegal immigrants to work in the u.s. even when we can't have enough jobs to support our population. Ithink that illegal immigrants should be severly punished if they get in to the country.
I think what your referring to is the transient worker thing he's supporting. This is a good idea, simply because the problem is so bad that many buisnesses rely on these illegals. This system allows for the illegals to be documented, taxed (i beleive) and regulated. We can't just allow millions of people to permeate our borders at thier own will. If that's the case, then why the hell do we have borders at all.

Easy for you to say. You don't have any family members who are illegal immigrants. I don't but i have friends that do. Remember when Mexicans went on strike because of this? I remember, because for 2 days alot of the Mexicans didn't come to school. i remember there being oly like 15 or 20 people in every class. That's a pretty low number of kids in class at my school. One of my friends grandma is an illegal immigrant. So you're saying people as innocent as a grandmother should be punished?
