I believe that New England should be an independent country. I believe smaller countries do better financially and emotionally. The 6 states would remain states as areas of smaller rule with a smaller but stronger main government. It would be extremely nationalistic and have a strong military. A huge naturally built wall would be built on the border between New England and the US. Boston would be the capital. What do you all think of it?

Yes, actually. People in Quebec have tried numerous times to become independent from Canada. Personally I think they should, it would make Canada less polarized.

One word: Texas. Seriously, New England's GDP is nothing compared to the Southwest. quote: The 6 states would remain states as areas of smaller rule with a smaller but stronger main government. I think it's a very well thought out fantasy. New England has to be one of the least nationalistic, pro-military or right wing areas in the country. The likelihood of them having a good military or such a strong sense of national identity to secede after the CSA tried and failed is about as good as the Cubs winning the World Series the same day hell freezes over. On a side note though, Right wingers would be having a field day if this happened. There just wouldn't be as much liberalism or Democrats in the USA, and the GOP could pass its agenda like nothing.

What are you talking about? You're just mad at Massachusettes for accepting Gay Marriages. That doesn't mean we can't be part of the US!
