Question:
If you could vote for one of the presidential candidates today, who would you vote for?

Also...
-Do you think Bush will be re-elected?
-Should he be re-elected?
-What should the next president do differently than Bush?

Choices:
George W. Bush (R-Texas)
Wesley Clark (D-Arkansas)
Howard Dean (D-Vermont)
Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio)
Someone else... (Dick Gephardt, John Kerry, Joseph Lieberman, John Edwards...)

2. America is not socialist. VERY FEW people in the U.S. even think that way and it is not because of movies!!! (?!?!) I’ve seen more pro-war, pro-domination/imperialism, pro-America movies in the past several years than ever before. It makes me sick. So, if you wanna see socialist people, go to another country, somewhere in Europe maybe. For god's sake, we're one of the few industrialized nations without socialized health care! And we pay practically no taxes!! Go to a country without so many poor people, high taxes, great public education, and health care for everyone and then tell me America is full of socialists. Well, maybe there are some (I know a couple) but they are by no means taking over this country. AT ALL.

Spoken like a true out-of-tune-with-reality socialist liberal.

I would just drop all of the stories I've written refuting what this moron just stated, but it's not worth it.

If you people can't see it now, it'll be hard to see it in the future.

Nope. The problem is that if people are unarmed, that emables and encourages criminals to prey on others; Criminals are less likely to attack people who are unarmed.

That's borne out both here and abroad. Washington D.C. and Chicago completey ban handgun ownership for regular folks (D.C. does not allow citizens to possess any kind of operation firearm), and they have traditionally led in murder and other kinds of crime for the last two decades.

That's also borne out by international statistics such as the International Crime Victimization Survey. England/Wales and Australia lead the world, flip-flopping between first and second place. Their crime rates began skyrocketing after both passed strict anti-gun laws in 1997. Even many other nations, like Denmark, France, etc., which have "tough" gun laws, also are well above the U.S., which ranks 11th for overall crime and, IIRC, 10th for violent or "contact" crime. This has held consistently through several years of study.

While certainly there may be other contributing factors, gun laws are clearly a major factor, particularly in England and Australia.

1. Bush is still probably the best choice for President, in light of the international concerns and the war on terror. No doubt Saddam's capture will help.

2. Under the Democrats, the U.S. has starting down the road of hardline socialism and communism, mostly by way of high taxes and entitlements. Unfortunately, Bush created one of the largest social(ist) programs in half a century, so I can't say the Democrats are the only ones. But one could argue that the influence of the leftists and the need to appeal to leftist voters is why Bush did it.

3. I don't know where the statement that "Bush was chosen by God" came from, and I suspect it's more leftist propaganda. I have heard - and agree with - some statements that it's lucky that Bush became president when he did, because if 9/11 had happened in 1995 or 1997, we'd be screwed.

4.
quote:
The Democratic party is becoming more conservative, not wildly red.
. - I almost spit out my tea all over the computer laughing at this. Have you listened to your own party? You know, that just a year ago elected Nancy Pelosi over Harold Ford for just that reason?

5. The Democratic Party has tried it's best to destroy America, and has largely succeeded. A mess that Bush has been (trying) to clean up. Messes including a badly-downsized military, high crime thanks to both gun control and soft-on-crime sentencing and policy, an out-of-control tort system that decimates innovation and enterprise, egregious and rampant violations of civil liberties, such as the Democrat's Clipper Chip law to name but one. The Democrats have tried to destroy our national sovereignty and enslave us to the U.N...well, I could go on but I'm getting tired of typing.

6. Africans? No, instead we've got some of the worst human-rights abusers sitting on the human rights committee, like Cuba. The U.N. features the worst terrorist states calling for global gun control. What a botched abortion.

I’m assuming this was not a sarcastic post. Please excuse my rant if it is.

1. Sadly, Bush has a darn good chance of winning. I'm praying that his approval rating drops dramatically and the economy continues to suck, at least through November so we can blame it on him. The liberals are so unorganized that unless we all back a good candidate, we will lose and we will have to postpone the defoliating of Bush for yet another painful four years.

2. America is not socialist. VERY FEW people in the U.S. even think that way and it is not because of movies!!! (?!?!) I’ve seen more pro-war, pro-domination/imperialism, pro-America movies in the past several years than ever before. It makes me sick. Well, maybe there are some (I know a couple) but they are by no means taking over this country. AT ALL.

3. Since when was Bush “chosen by God?” If he was chosen for anything, it was to ruin the U.S. and the world. We need him and his cabinet out of power. Now.

4. The Democratic Party is so NOT full of “evil ratfink commies.” What exactly are your definitions of “socialist” and “communist?” The Democratic party is becoming more conservative, not wildly red.

5. The Democratic party does NOT want to destroy America! Bush is already taking care of that for us.

6. Africans are not dominating the UN. Oh, so because the UN’s Secretary General Kofi Annan is from Ghana, that means Africans are taking control? Better to have a top representative that is not American and it not from a super-powerful nation to “control” the UN, which is a wonderful organization in which the U.S. has TOO much influence, thank you very much.

I was listening to this dude, he claimed to be a former government remote viewer (a real psychic) and said that Bush was going to be reelected, barely, then he would die in office. Not by an assaassination, he said he got more of a feel of an ailment. My bet is he's going to have another pretzel choking incident, this time, fatal.

I think that Bush will win the liberals are'nt organized(not unusual)and it seems like Nader might win which could throw off the liberals Smile
I think that the country would be ruined if we elected any of the liberals who are running because they would probably let down their guard on terrorism and we'd get attacked.

Joey, that was total bull. Liberals tend much more often to be libertarians, and you yourself aren't a libertarian.

**** it. I'm not even gonna post an explanation to this because it's so damn obvious.

At least with extremists you'd get the bad stuff over and done with quicker.

See, now you have moderates who sloooowly implement their assinine laws, regulations, and taxes...

...if you had the extreme leftists, for example (and I use left because we're headed towards complete Global Dictatorship), then we'd already get this thing going and done with.

Moderates sloooowly take their time.

And if we had right-wing extremists, we'd have a Constitutional republic again.
