Does anyone other than a few Cuban, Americans still support the embargo against Cuba? If this is the case, why does the embargo still exist (other than politicians being politicians and trying to appeal to an important demographic)? Or is that the only reason? To me, it seems extremely petty that the embargo still exists. Yes, it made sense at the time, but embargos are meant to be lifted eventually. It's not as though Cuba is an actual threat the the U.S. and the "free world".

"Our neighbors to the north should not fear. I am not planning to be in office at that age." -Fidel Castro (based on the statement that more and more Cubans are living to be 100+ due to good social welfare...Castro is 80 right now)

I found that in TIME magazine (I kind of paraphrased the part in parentheses). Not totally relevent, but interesting none the less...

I can get them here in San Antonio too, legit and legal, pre-embargo tobbacco... but then there is always some that is not quite so legit and legal, but we'll keep that hush.

A bit off-topic, but I was able to find legit Cuban cigars easily enough in Mexico just last week.

Because Cuba is still Communist and oppressed! And every patriotic American knows Communists are evil!

I didn't even know we still had an embargo on Cuba until I read the recent news about Castro. And then I was reading about how the White House is still working towards a "free Cuba." Still? Jeez. Priorities, people.

joking aside the embargo is pointless and should be removed
