Even if there is only a 1% chance of the person becoming a christian, that slight chance is enough for us to at least want to give it a shot. I mean, from my point of view becoming a christian is probably the best thing about my life. It has helped me to get through so many hard times and make the good ones even better. Why wouldnt I want my fellow human beings to get the chance to experience that?

Remember! God loves you, and so do I! (lol, so corny, but true.)

well, if this is true, what is the point of even trying to tell someone about Christianity? Obviously they are already slated for heaven or hell.
-not meaning to be mean, just trying to have a debate Big Grin

P.S. - Icm, yes, unless someone screams "i hate you" in my face, i consider them a friend, regardless of religion, or lack thereof.

(forgive anything that does not make complete sense grammar-wise.... I'm dyslexic ^^*)

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately many Christians today have become rather pushy with their witnessing, repeatedly knocking on doors and whatnot. And yes, some of these people are judgemental as well. However, most christians realize that this is not really what we are supposed to be doing. Harassment and being unkind is no way to tell someone Jesus loves them. But hey, whats a christian to do? The pushy ones dont like to be told to stop, especially from other christians (Ive tried... not pretty.)

the word of God is like a seed and we as Christians should spread the seeds on all types of terrain, even ones where it is not very likely to grow.

hehe sounds like a "Blitz Kreig" to me Smile

but notice it says should spread the seeds on all types of terrain, which could possibly mean...Christians should be everywhere. However it doesn't say go door to door annoying everyone you meet. It doesn't say to insult those or look down upon others, and no I am not saying you do or anyone does. But if I tell someone I don't believe in Christianity or refuse a thankless prayer, I might as well be crucified on the spot...you know what I mean. It's like people can't fathom I am not thinking like them, that I don't believe what they do. I think spreading the word(seed) is doing what you do without judgement. Such as a Buhddist Monk, they just do what they do and for the most part are rather peaceful about it. People can see more good through actions then constant bombardment of words.

Umm i asked my pastor the exact same question almost and he gave me a really great answer so Ill try to repeat it but Im not promising anything.....

It is our duty as Christians to spread the word of God to all of those that we can, and we should never withhold ourselves from telling someone about Jesus for fear that the will reject him. There is a scripture somewhere in the Bible (dont ask me where, I can never remember all those names and numbers) but it says something like the word of God is like a seed and we as Christians should spread the seeds on all types of terrain, even ones where it is not very likely to grow. In short, everyone is predispositioned to whether or not they will take Jesus into their hearts, and we should always give it a shot even in the "rockiest soil." As for if I would feel bad if I "caused" the person to go to hell- no not really. They had their chance to go to heaven and passed it by.

Heh. Im not good at this kind of stuff, but hey I tried. It sounded much better coming from my Pastor. :-/

I don't subscribe to the belief that anyone who has not heard God's word will go to heaven. So I guess the question doesn't apply to me.
