First I'd like to say I'm not republican and I'm not democrat. Both want your money and don't seem to care about you're well-being. But I do believe that the government should never have more power than the people, and the government that governs least governs best. The governments job is to serve and protect. To make sure that no one is hurting another person. Other than that, the government needs to step off.

My views are reactionary, and I don't neccessarily think that we should go through with them completely, but I would like to move in the direction.

So what's my point in saying all this? The government waste way to much of it's money. National debt is ever-growing, and our wallet are ever-shrinking. What do we do about it?

I have a few ideas in mind. First of all: Public schools. Now that we have them we can't get rid of them, but let's face it. When we really think about it, why in the world does the government have an education system (I mean besides to brainwash it's future citizens). We already have them, so it would be impossible just drop the whole deal. So I propose that instead what we do is organize high school so that it's more like a tech school. You keep some people on the college track, but you offer a completely different track for tech or specialization students. It's more motivating, it keeps you from having to lower the standards of the kids in high level classes. How does this reduce money? Well in theory it would mean more people are getting better jobs (that they actually like), which means more money towards the government.

Second (less absurd, but probably gonna get wailed on for it): no/little welfare. Let me first start by telling a "joke". A democrat and republican are walking down the street and they pass a beggar. The republican pulls a $1 bill out of his pocket and give it to the man. The next day the same democrat and republican are walking down the street and the democrat reaches into the republicans pocket and pulls out $5 and gives it to the beggar. once again, people have to get money from somewhere, but is it the governments place to make sure they get it? is it the governments to place to just hand it to them. i say that the government starts some specific charity organizations to take care of this problem. Charity for the people who can't get jobs (for miscellaneous reasons), and then for those who are disabled, then you give them welfare. this will probably reduce the amount of money the government spends playing robin hood (taking from the rich to give the poor) signifigantly. this either means less taxes on us, or more money to something that will get someone somewhere.

there are other ways the goverment could get it's nose out of things, but those are the two big one's i have in mind. these are mainly topics for discussion. i'm not hardcore on either one, just ideas, so don't tear me down.

It's about time someone else stood up for less government.

I'm with you; the Republicans/Democrats just want more of your money, and to be honest with you, I don't see how anyone can refute any of that.

But ...I just assume we stop doing it the nice way - what's going to have to happen before we get any real change is for a second armed Revolution.

I'm personally not the gun type, but that's what's going to have to happen.

Welfare and other social programs have cost so much money and they do very, very little.

Of course, you won't end it because the minorities will claim you're racist.

But it's true - every time the government has the best of intentions, everything messes up - now I'd like to see anyone try to refute THAT.
