quote: I agree, we should all trust North Korea to do the right thing.
We're not talking about "doing the right thing." So far, the discussion is on whether or not North Korea would be stupid enough to use their limited supply of nuclear weapons (knowing full well that any retaliation by the US would erase them from the map). Current events have pretty much established that NK is not a "nice and well mannered state," but the question of "do they have a death wish?" is what is still being debated.

Yes they do seem to be a nice and well mannered state. I agree, we should all trust North Korea to do the right thing.

by the creation of nuclear weapons n.korea is essentially protecting itself from the threat of invasion, i do not believe they are ever going to use the weapons in an aggressive way unless challened militairily.

our reaction from one submarine could wipe out the entire North Korean penisula, I welcome you to the world of MAD (Mutual Assures Destruction) which is what kept the nukes from flying during the cold war, now Nk does not have a lot of nukes, nor do they have a relaible long range launch platform, nor can they shoot down nukes like we can. therefore a nuclear attack by korea on the US is simply suicide

And that will somehow give them more power, marine? Am I missing something, or wouldn't our retaliation completely decimate North Korea? Seriously. North Korea is intent on creating a "perfect socialist country" (or something like that), not signing their own death warrant.

North Korea is a clear threat and will continue to be one for some time. They will probably use their Nuke when their 'enlightened' leader feels his power slipping.
