Worst stereotype of pacifism it that is teh same as passivism. Abhoring violence doesn't mean you have to lay down and quit. Gandhi liberated a country against a very violent oppressor. Mass non-cooperation and a civilian-based defense.
i daont care what it's called! hippies, teens against wars, SAW, ect. we dont have to call ourselves anything if hippies have such a bad rep. i allways thought of hippies as peace-loving, against wars and pollution type of people. not the drugie, bum-on-the-street people. look, im not asking for a miricle i just love peace!!
Most true hippies i know are concerned about two things. "Have a good show", and "want to smoke some opium?" If you travel with a band; Camp; sell drugs or make clothes/glass peices/food for money, and have danced in a drum circle (clothes and birkingstocks optional), you can call yourself a hippie. otherwise your calling yourself a hippie just to call yourself one. think earthy. and don't shower.

All joking aside, hippies get a bad rep. They were mostly the posuers of the 60's and 70's who listened to the same music as the artists and held the same views as the revolutionaries but that's about as far as it went. Now these New Jack Hippies, the neo-Hippies are more just teh peacenik liberal activists. But there's just something lost 40 odd years later by trying to ressurect it and label yourself, something many of the children of the 60's would have rebelled against.
Why do you hate wars ? They're FUN ! And they're good for the economy, ya know. The more people we kill and the more weapons we sell, the better the US does, of course. If we could only integrate war and moral majority telethons, then we would certainly be set for eternal bliss.
weeeeeeeel, i have eaten duck meat and mainily am trying to be vegi because i hate the way fish and some other meat tasts ( like moose, deer, ect.) i'm not telling you to be vegitarian or anything! i just hate wars!
