With all the talk about liberals, conservatives and other parties on the 'boards, I was wondering where everyone stands in terms of political parties? Do most of you identify with one party or are you more concerned with the individual candidate?
Also, can you even tell the difference between the parties? I know I have trouble sometimes with all the changes they are always making in terms of their views and policies.

I'm personally an independent and part of the the so called "Authoritarian Right" despite some of my left wing ideas (ex: I support State capitalism). I personally think the government isn't doing enough to solve social issues (crime, illegal immigration, the costly and hopeless drug war, exploitation of workers, corruption, abortion, etc.) or economic issues (there's an obvious loss of jobs overseas, a huge trade deficit, national debt, a lack of an industrial policy, pointless regulation etc.). I also don't think we should hold elections until we can seriously crack down on crime and corruption, because what's the use of electing someone if they're in the pockets of Special Interests and society's going to hell? In terms of supporting one of the two parties though, I generally side with the Republicans.

As you're a mod, I'm sure you read these boards. That in mind, do you believe that any plurality of board members will respond to this intelligently ?
In anycase, all the republican/democrat issues are just muddying watters, they're essentially two sides of the coin with only minor differences in opinion. Rather than play that game, I tend to support libertarian candidates and viewpoints. The government is doing too much.
